    Watford 0-0 Liverpool

A lovely move from Watford, the best of the night. They cut out a Liverpool pass and swiftly and sweetly move it from one end to the other. Troy Deeney takes a diagonal pass onto his chest and shoots from range - but it's well charged down.

Philippe Coutinho is back on the Liverpool bench, strapped up and iced up. Dead leg?

What a miserable evening for Philippe Coutinho.

Thirteen minutes, four touches, one pass.

    And one early exit.

Coutinho going off is a major blow for Liverpool. He was trying to run it off but you could see him biting his lip and wincing through the pain. It was inevitable Liverpool made that substitution.

  5. SUBSTITUTION - Coutinho offpublished at 12 mins

    Watford 0-0 Liverpool

A big blow, but a good replacement at least. Philippe Coutinho heads straight down the tunnel as Adam Lallana comes on. Jurgen Klopp said that Lallana wasn't ready to start - so can he play for 80+ minutes?!

Liverpool have stopped playing since Coutinho's injury. They are going through the motions until they make that change.

A midfield of Lucas and Emre Can isn't screaming creativity to me, and Liverpool are yet to get any sort of football going. Maybe the arrival of Adam Lallana can get them up and running.

Liverpool are playing with 10 men really. Coutinho is not in the game at all. It is going to be inevitable that Liverpool will lose him soon.

Liverpool are basically playing with 10, that's the problem. Philippe Coutinho can't make any sort of challenge for the ball.

Philippe Coutinho shuffles over to the touchline and has a chat with Jurgen Klopp, who presumably wants his playmaker to stay on if he possibly can. Liverpool are giving him as long as he needs.

I think he got a dead leg, it doesn't look like a muscular issue, a strain or a tear. It looked like he copped a knee into his upper thigh. It is going to be painful for him.

Liverpool don't need this. He is the playmaker and everything goes through him. There is a huge sense of responsibility on him.

Liverpool on the fringes of clicking. First Emre Can can't quite reach a free-kick which had found him in space, and then Philippe Coutinho flicks the ball past Adrian Mariappa and is caught high.

He looks in a spot of bother. Knee on knee.

Liverpool move it around well, with Divock Origi holding the ball up, but Joel Matip then gives it away unnecessarily. Origi is then caught by Seb Prodl.

Everybody else slipping up is a huge incentive for Liverpool to show up. The results went completely in their favour, the goal difference is similar, but they have got the advantage by playing tonight and putting the pressure on the Manchester clubs."

    Watford v Liverpool (20:00 BST)

    Mark Schwarzer

"Troy Deeney runs that Watford changing room, it is old school and it is great to hear it still happens. He possibly could have done it a bit more often and got a bit more consistency from his team.

"If you look at Watford they have got talented players but do not bring it to the park week after week. What sort of influence has the manager had? How is his communication? Has he demanded enough from his players?

"That's what many Watford fans will be asking."
