    Watford v Liverpool (20:00 BST)

    Liverpool

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp, talking to Sky Sports about the race for the Champions League: "Before this game we said probably we will be fifth going into it, but we didn't worry too much so we don't worry now.

"You have to take your own points and play your own games. When we don't win our games nothing will change in our direction.

"So nothing changes after the other games but we have a strong opponent tonight."

On whether he was tempted to start Adam Lallana, who is on the bench following injury: "Actually no, not for a second. He had two proper sessions and then a recovery session, he has been out four and a half weeks.

"But he is in good shape and looks fresh, he looks Adam-like.

"The same with Daniel Sturridge, he had a good week, but didn't take part in all the sessions, and we decided to be careful with him."

Why have Liverpool struggled against some of the bottom-half teams?

The team lack character. Talent is there but mental strength and game management is lacking. We have been runners up in the league, 3 semi finals and 2 finals in the last 4 seasons and won nothing. Sooner he gets the defence sorted and moves on average players like Lucus, Lovren, etc We will see this keep happening to the Reds.

Jurgen Klopp's side were beaten by Watford at Vicarage Road last season, and he knows that he can't afford a repeat performance. He seems very focused and chatty in his pre-match interview.

    He's ready for a fight.

A new manager every year? Your instinct tells you that it can't be right, Watford's run of results in recent years suggests the opposite.

Peter Ladd: Survival still makes it an ok year for Watford, but the goal is to become a top half team, hereon in. Mazzarri likely to leave.

The Hornets are back at home, but this still looks like a winnable fixture Liverpool - although I thought the same about their last game against Crystal Palace.

    Prediction: 1-2

Why have Liverpool struggled against some of the bottom-half teams this season?

Lotak: It's tactics. Liverpool are set up to counter attack. They can't seem to break teams down, despite their attacking options.

Hassan_Anfield: We need at least 5 new signings. A new GK (Ter Stegen) CB (Van Dijk) LB (Ryan Sessegnon) A Speedy winger & Striker (Aubameyang)

Watford captain Troy Deeney was not a happy chap last time out.

After accusing his team-mates of 'playing like Fifa' up at Hull, he apologised to the supporters who made the trip and said that the Hornets 'have a moral responsibility' to do better than that.

If you made a Premier League table just based on the games between the top six teams this season then Liverpool would already have the title in the bag, so good has their form been against their main rivals.

Yet their run-in sees them face four games which are precisely the type of fixtures that have tripped them up, starting at Vicarage Road.

If Liverpool want a return to the Champions League they must find a way to assert themselves against the sides they're expected to beat, just as Chelsea have done all season.

As for Watford, expect a reaction after last week's defeat at Hull and that stinging criticism, external of their performance by the captain Troy Deeney.

Why have Liverpool struggled against some of the teams in the bottom half of the table?

For me, the mindset has got to change, when we're up against the big lads we know its a big game and we have to perform our absolute best! But when we're up against the 'lesser teams' the pace, confidence and intensity is gone, we just don't try as hard and get punished! Right now we've been given a lifeline from the Manchester clubs. If we don't win tonight, our top 4 chances are looking bleak.

Troy Deeney is critical of young footballers lifestyles.

Troy Deeney doesn’t like the way modern football is going.

I like the way Troy Deeney is going though.

The Watford captain told Darren Fletcher and Jermaine Jenas on the Friday Night Social that statistics show 74% of players who sign a professional contract at 18 are out of football within five years.

He worries young footballers just care about the nice cars and Instagram posts and have no concept of the real world.

    Why have Liverpool struggled....

..........against teams in the bottom half?

Stephen: Klopp's failure to sign a Plan B winger, CB who can partner Matip, tactical stubbornness, no natural LB, no in-and-out striker.

martyn: Combination of things, small squad, injuries and some times one track minded on how we play! We just don't mix it up enough

Liverpool have to take the game to Watford, they are in a good position, not many would've had them this high in the table at this stage of the season.

They have to really try to make the most of it. They have to be on the front foot.
