Love them or hate them, you can't deny play-off finals bring a healthy dose of drama, emotion and intensity - and this game was no exception.

It's cruel on Exeter. 49 league games culminate in no reward after a slog of a campaign.

For Blackpool, a summer of preparation lies ahead but tonight is for celebrating. Fans, players, managers and directors all have their moment.

Thrilling stuff.

The football season is almost at an end, but there's still the small matter of the Championship play-off final to be settled.

Huddersfield and Reading will meet at Wembley for a place in the Premier League, and at least £170m in extra revenue over the next three years for the winners.

We'll be here from 11:00 BST tomorrow with all the build-up to the game, for a 15:00 BST kick-off.

Who will follow in Hull's footsteps from a year ago and reach the top flight?

Blackpool boss Gary Bowyer told Sky Sports:

"We grew into the game, we were clinical in front of goal,"

"I can't stress how proud I am of this team. Sheer determination and guts.

"The start is what you dream of but we had to contend with how Exeter came back at us. What an unbelievable effort."

Wembley is a place for winners, but there also has to be losers.

Exeter have that sad feeling today.

There's no doubt this win will mean an awful lot to some genuinely huge Blackpool fans whose principles stood between them attending this final at Wembley.

It won't sour the joy of gaining promotion, but I'm sure there's disappointment among them that they felt unable to support their club in person on such a key day.

Tom Aldred and Andy Taylor take the play-off final trophy in their hands and lift it aloft to the delight of the bouncing Seasiders on the gantry.

Tickertape flutters in the breeze... Blackpool have the silverware in their hands and are heading for League One next season.

Regular skipper Andy Taylor missed this game with a hamstring injury but he's about to help lift that big cup...

These players have just given their all over 90 minutes but you wouldn't know it as they stride gleefully up the many steps to the royal box and the gantry at Wembley.

Blackpool can see the silver before them... minutes keep them from clutching it!

"I was confident we'd score again, Cullen the superhero.

"It was an absolute pleasure to be part of this team and this occasion."

Blackpool defender Tom Aldred told Sky Sports:

"I said before, when I joined this club it was clear to see there were problems.

"From the bottom of my heart I want to be there to take this club where it deserves to be."

It's a deserved result, you've got to say.

I don't know quite what happened in either dressing room at half-time, but Blackpool came out absolutely fantastic from the get go.

They were second-best in the first half, but the second half was a wonderful performance.

Exeter didn't turn up, we didn't see the best of them, and this was just about the right result.

Amid all the turbulence off the field, Gary Bowyer has guided Blackpool back to the third tier with success against a brave Exeter side.

Goals from Brad Potts and Mark Cullen were enough, as Exeter's David Wheeler scored in vain.
