Gritted teeth and a "get in" from Aidy Boothroyd showed what this victory means.

England were poor in the first half but improved after the break.

It was a test of character for the players - they had to be resilient at the end and can take credit from that.

Slovakia are currently on a lap of honour to acknowledge their supporters' wonderful backing.

England are still in a position to progress going into the Poland game.

    Poland U21 v Sweden U21 (19:45 BST)

If Sweden, who drew with England last Friday, beat Poland tonight, and then beat Slovakia on Thursday then they could end up topping the group.

Remember that only one team who finish second makes the last four. So there is still work to be done.

Now who wants to see Peter Crouch with some giraffes?

    Slovakia U21 1-2 England U21

England's final group game comes on Thursday night, when they play hosts Poland, in Kielce again.

A win would almost certainly send England into the semi-finals. That depends on tonight's result though.

At half-time Aidy Boothroyd was a man in real trouble and now he's on the pitch high-fiving his victorious players. What a great turnaround from the Three Lions.

They still didn't play especially well but they got the win.

It's not often you see England come from behind to win in a tournament, at any level.

Thousands of Slovakians literally drumming up support for the closing stages.

Abraham, who has led the line tirelessly, is being booed and jeered by the opposing fans for what they believe is play acting.

England ready to make a final change with activity on the bench.

Nervy times for England fans now. They are used to that. England have six minutes of normal time to defend this lead. It's a flat back nine really now and then hoof it for Tammy Abraham to chase.

England break away, two-on-two for a moment but Demarai Gray is tackled as he tries to cut inside. A better touch, or an earlier ball, and England were in. It's a compelling last 10 minutes as Slovakia throw men up the field...
