  1. Hughes on the move?published at 19:02 British Summer Time 22 June 2017

A member of the England squad who could be on the move is Will Hughes.

Watford are in talks with Derby County over an £8m deal for the midfielder.

Discussions between the clubs are now at an advanced stage as new Hornets manager Marco Silva shapes his squad for next season.

He is likely to complete his move once England return from the tournament.

In the current market, dare I suggest that is a bit of a bargain?

  2. 'We must concentrate'published at 19:01 British Summer Time 22 June 2017

    England U21 v Poland U21 (19:45 BST)

Marcin Dorna, Poland coach: "This game against England, and the possibility of qualifying, is kind of a prize for what the team did versus Sweden, but we must definitely concentrate better. In both our games so far we scored first but didn't win."

  3. 'An early onslaught'published at 19:00 British Summer Time 22 June 2017

England will be ready for an early onslaught. Poland have scored early in both their previous games and there is no shortage of Polish passion. This place is going to be jumping - a sea of red and white with hats, scarves, tops. There is genuine excitement because the host nation can also qualify.

I think England's one change is down to their brutal schedule. Tammy Abraham was outstanding against Slovakia, he worked tirelessly, so Demarai Gray offers fresh pair of legs.

They might miss Abraham at set pieces but Aidy Boothroyd told me yesterday that England's matchwinner might be somebody off the bench or indeed someone who has yet to feature.

  4. What do England need?published at 18:56 British Summer Time 22 June 2017

    England U21 v Poland U21 (19:45 BST)

As Paul Simpson so rightly says, a win takes England through. After that, it gets a little complicated...

England will secure first place and a semi-final spot with victory.

A draw would also guarantee progress if Slovakia and Sweden share the points in tonight's other game.

Though bottom, Poland would advance if they beat England by two goals or more and Slovakia v Sweden ended in a draw.

  5. 'Players focused on win'published at 18:56 British Summer Time 22 June 2017

    BBC Radio 5 live

England Under-20s boss Paul Simpson, who is co-commentating on tonight's game for BBC Radio 5 live, said: "Speaking to Aidy Boothroyd and being around the hotel this morning the whole group are enjoying this tournament.

"We know there is a lot at stake tonight but we are really looking forward to it and hopefully the players will go and perform to the levels we know they are capable of. We know a win takes us through and that's all we are focusing on at the moment."

  7. 'We won't get carried away'published at 18:52 British Summer Time 22 June 2017

    England U21 v Poland U21 (19:45 BST)

Aidy Boothroyd, England manager: "We don't want to put our future in anyone else's hands. We're here to go as far as we can and if we keep improving then why can't we reach the semis and go beyond that?

"But first things first, what we definitely won't do is get carried away and complacent."

  8. 'England are relaxed'published at 18:52 British Summer Time 22 June 2017

If I was asked to gauge the mood I would suggest there is an openness in the England camp, a relaxed approach ahead of another must-win match.

They don't bristle at questions or trot out any bland cliches of focusing on the match.

Boothroyd appears to set the tone, prepared to take the mickey out of some of the players who have moved (Jordan Pickford) or who could be moving (Abraham and Will Hughes to Swansea and Watford respectively).

They haven't shied away from the "fraught" dressing room exchange on Monday, instead they harnessed the positivity that came from it.

Quite right too. It's healthy to be honest.

  12. Gray startspublished at 18:51 British Summer Time 22 June 2017
    Breaking

    England U21 v Poland U21 (19:45 BST)

Tammy Abraham had a tough day up front against Slovakia, very much ploughing a lone furrow. And his reward is to be dropped as Aidy Boothroyd goes with a no-striker formation.

    Demarai Gray comes in.

England: Pickford; Holgate, Chambers, Mawson, Chilwell; Chalobah, Ward-Prowse, Baker; Swift, Gray, Redmond

England put in an underwhelming display in a 0-0 draw with Sweden in their opening game, and were staring at elimination when they were 1-0 down to Slovakia on Monday.

But a second-half turnaround ended with Nathan Redmond's winner giving the Three Lions a 2-1 win which sets up tonight's game in Kielce.

A win and England are in the semi-finals.

Life could get very complicated for those following the England Under-21 side this evening.

There are a plethora of permutations to worry about, goal difference, goals scored and even bookings could come into play.

So let's hope that Aidy Boothroyd's side keep things real simple.

Beat Poland and they are into the last four.

Are they up to the task?
