Watford 1-0 Liverpool
Little creativity from the Reds thus far, the front trident of Roberto Firmino, Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah have not got going yet and barely managed to string a pass together.

I don't think he should be at the club. I don't think he should be allowed to play for Liverpool anymore.
If a fellow player is sat in the dressing room saying "I don't want to play anymore", then I don't want to play with him.

Paul Tadd: So far this is all very average from Liverpool. And still can't defend.
Paul Walmsley: The next 80 minutes will be Watford defending deep and Liverpool failing to break them down. Business as usual in the EPL.
Amos: I understand why Coutinho would want to leave, he more likely wants to win trophies. I don't think he will staying at Liverpool

And off goes Daryl Janmaat again, ripping off his strapping and flinging it to the ground. A coach tries to comfort him, but the Dutchman shrugs him away. Touchy.
On comes Kiko Femenia for his Watford debut.
Watford 1-0 Liverpool
Oh, hold on.
Daryl Janmaat has hobbled back on with one leg, surely he cannot go on like this. He can barely walk.
Watford 1-0 Liverpool
Watford continuing with 10 men for now.
Watford 1-0 Liverpool
An injury concern for Daryl Janmaat, who is down on the turf. It looks like his left knee.
The Dutchman is not happy and his opening game may come to a premature end.
Let's see...

Good triangles from Watford, and good doubling-up on Liverpool's players when the Hornets lose possession.
The hosts have looked really very good so far.
Watford 1-0 Liverpool
Six of Stefano Okaka’s seven Premier League goals have come in home matches.
The Italian front man is causing the Liverpool back line plenty of problems with his clever link-up play.
He was involved in the lead-up to the goal, then trotted forward to nod in the opener.

Jerry Elumeze: Same old, same old Liverpool FC
LFC Way: New season, first corner to defend. Same old story. Prepare yourself for another disappointing defensive campaign.
Noel Fitzpatrick: Klopp, sell Coutinho and buy defenders!!!!! And a goalkeeper!!!

Watford 1-0 Liverpool
Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp, standing on the touchline, swings his arms round and round in a fashion to tell his players to go again.
A bit like my boss does to me when I'm flagging at the end of a shift.
It is all Watford though, they have started this game superbly.

A great ball in from Holebas, an inswinging corner. Liverpool's zonal marking failed and it was a great attack onto the cross by Okaka. He judged the flight early, made good contact and powered home.
Poor marking from Liverpool but a great start by Watford.
Stefano Okaka
What a start for the hosts.
Shocking marking from Liverpool.
Jose Holebas swings in a sumptuous corner into the six yard box.
Big man Stefano Okaka is unmarked and plants a header into the net.
Goalkeeper Simon Mignolet got a hand to it, but Okaka's header was too powerful.
Watford 0-0 Liverpool
Lovely stuff from the hosts, carving open the Liverpool back line.
The burly Stefano Okaka shows beautiful touch for a big man, stroking an inch-perfect ball through to Roberto Pererya, who turns inside and out but his shot is blocked by Dejan Lovren for a corner...

For that amount of money I think Liverpool should accept Barcelona's big offer for Philippe Coutinho.
But if they lose him will they be perceived as lacking ambition? I'm not sure - the team Jurgen Klopp has selected today looks pretty strong to me, an exciting side.

Porlsbury Doughboy: Moreno starts and Coutinho is off. When are Tranmere on?
Jay: If Liverpool had Coutinho playing for them today, they'd be 3 goals up already.
Mat VP: Liverpool are basically every team you face on FIFA online. Pace and run around midfielders.
Watford 0-0 Liverpool
It looks like Watford boss Marco Silva has instructed Daryl Janmaat to follow Liverpool's Sadio Mane like a shadow today.
The Watford full-back catches his opponent in possession deep in the final third, but the Dutchman's cross into the box is headed away by Joel Matip.
No chances for either side just yet, a rather subdued starts to the contest.

I think Philippe Coutinho could well still be at Liverpool at the end of the transfer window. A lot of money is on offer but I can't see that Liverpool need that money.
It'll only change if Coutinho ratchets up the pressure and demands the move.
Watford 0-0 Liverpool
Ouch.
An early reducer by Watford's Jaryl Janmaat on Sadio Mane, treading on the Senegal man's Achillies.
Just letting him know he's there.
Watford 0-0 Liverpool
Referee Anthony Taylor blows his whistle.
Here we go, game number two of 380 in the Premier League is under way.
