    Arsenal 0-0 Chelsea

Arsenal are looking sharp. They had a good pre-season, winning three games, while Chelsea's was perhaps a bit more exhausting as they played two games in the heat and humidity of Singapore, losing both of them.

Nacho Monreal aims a cross towards the near post but it is too close to Thibaut Courtois and the Chelsea keeper scoops up the ball.

We talk about Arsenal playing with a back three, out of possession it is a back five. Sometimes they will say to Chelsea: 'you have the ball and we will counter'.

I'm slightly surprised that Morata has not started for Chelsea.

If you're Antonio Conte and thinking of playing him next weekend why would you not play him today?

Nacho Monreal is nominally one of Arsenal's back three but he was the furthest man forwards in that first attack. Real fluidity in both team's systems.

Half the Wembley pitch is drenched in sunshine, the other half in shadow as Arsenal get straight on the attack.

They move the ball from left to right before Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain attempts to float the ball over the defence but overhits it and out it goes as Chelsea fans cheer ironically.

Jake Beer: I feel like Chelsea have bought some very good players but I would like to see some reinforcements for the wing backs.

Johnny Magrinho: Both benches are weak so comes down to who has the best XI. Backing Batshuayi to bag a brace & Chelsea win 3-1 with ease.

As the teams line up for national anthem, two legends for the respective clubs - Gianfranco Zola and Bob Wilson go down the line shaking the players' hands.

Wilson stops for a lengthy chat with Chelsea goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois while Zola gets a bear hug from Antonio Conte.

Another oddity about today's teams - Premier League champions Chelsea have a bench of players who have a combined total of one substitute appearance for the club between them in the league.

New signings Willy Caballero, Antonio Rudiger and Alvaro Morata are joined by Charly Musonda, Andreas Christensen, Kyle Scott and Jeremie Boga. More than a whiff of 'pre-season' about Antonio Conte's selection.

  20. Wenger hoping for a repeatpublished at 13:31 British Summer Time 6 August 2017

    Arsenal v Chelsea (14:00 BST)

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger: "For us, it is just a good opportunity to repeat the performance from the FA Cup final.

"I would say that Chelsea look like they have kept the basis of 95% of their squad. They have added Tiemoue Bakayoko, who is a very strong player, a strong ball-winner, similar to Nemanja Matic, maybe less of a distance runner but more of an impact player - but certainly they will fight for the championship again.

"They have replaced Costa with Morata. Morata is maybe less of a goalscorer than Costa, but he can score and provide as well."
