The Premier League celebrates its 25th anniversary and this fixtures takes me back to the 90s when some legendary players pulled on both shirts.

Newcastle were the ones back then challenging for the title, while Tottenham struggled at the wrong end. A couple of decades on and the tables have turned.

  5. Who will be Premier League champions?published at 12:11 British Summer Time 13 August 2017

    Pundits 2017

We have seen six different champions since the Premier League started 25 years ago, but will someone different win it this time?

Liverpool and Tottenham are among the teams hoping that will be the case or, at the very least, that they can finish in the top four.

But will Chelsea defend their title? Can Pep Guardiola conquer England with Manchester City? Are Arsenal contenders... or will Manchester United come good?

We asked 40 BBC TV and radio pundits, presenters, journalists and commentators for their one-two-three-four and an explanation of their selection.

Head here to see what they predict

Chris Barrett: Both Man City and Brighton will have tougher days. Credit where it's due though, it was a solid performance from Brighton.

Michael Eastman: Huddersfield should be happy. They started well with a win. But so did Hull last season and we all know what happened to them.

Jacob Hayes: I'll be honest, I'd take the current table to the end of the season now. Watching most of the normal top six cry they aren't up there would be hilarious fun! Can you imagine Burnley playing Barcelona in the group stage?! What an unbelievable life moment that would be!

And title favourites Manchester City got off to a winning start, despite resistance from new boys Brighton for 70 minutes.

How does this look, Huddersfield fans? Take a screenshot as you may not see it again.

The Terriers started Premier League life in stunning fashion by thumping Crystal Palace 3-0 at Selhurst Park.

What of the champions? Two players sent off and three goals conceded in a home defeat by Burnley. Chelsea boss Antonio Conte did not want a 'Mourinho season', he has plenty of work to do to avoid one.
