Very encouraging stuff from Everton at the moment. Wayne Rooney certainly looks up for this one and he plays a beautifully weighted ball for Cuco Martina to chase. The Everton man gets to the ball first and delivers a low cross for Sandro Ramírez but he stabs his first time effort just wide.

Brighton have managed just six shots on goal all season so Seagulls fans will probably have to be patient for some excitement at the Amex today. No chances of note yet for either side.

Alvaro Morata's first involvement of the day sees the striker cut inside on to his right foot and send a shot in on goal from 20 yards which is bang down the middle. Bright start.

Liverpool got Liverpooled in the way City played. City were so strong in the final third and made the correct decision every time.

They made it look so easy.

The laws of the game say Mane has to go. I would have gone for it and suffered the consequences. He went for it.

He had his eye on the ball the whole time but he has to go.

"The worst place to go down to 10 men is probably in Manchester - against both teams maybe.

There was a contract on the table for Ross Barkley to sign and he turned it down so Ronald Koeman had to go out and replace him. Now he has a list of players in front of him. Things will get better for him the moment he leaves.

Him not playing devalues him. If he hasn't played for six months it will take £10-15m off his value. He may have to take a sideways step now to get minutes under his belt and then move up to another big club. Sigurdsson has done it after leaving Tottenham. It can be done.

At some stage, Virgil van Dijk will have to be honest with himself and with the club. I would like to see him play again but this whole situation has not been good for his reputation.
