At what point did this seem like a good idea?

Celtic have been charged by Uefa after a fan ran on to the pitch and appeared to aim a kick at Paris St-Germain striker Kylian Mbappe.

The incident happened late in the first half of Tuesday's Champions League match at Celtic Park, shortly after the visitors' third goal in a 5-0 win.

PSG also face a charge after seats were damaged in the away section.

The cases will be dealt with by Uefa's control, ethics and disciplinary body on 19 October.

Spurs fans don't need me to remind them that they have won once in 11 appearances at Wembley over the past nine years.

They played all their home European games there last season, failing to qualify from their Champions League group as they dropped into the Europa League, where they were then eliminated by Gent in the first knockout round.

    Is tonight the night?

There is great expectation around these parts for Feyenoord's return to the Champions League after a 15-year absence.

The club have a huge following in the Netherlands, not just here in Rotterdam but right across the country.

They won the Dutch tile last season and have started the new campaign with four straight league wins.

Add into the mix that Feyenoord beat Manchester United here last season in the Europa League and you can see why the locals I've been speaking to are confident they can cause problems for Pep Guardiola's side.

The press in Spain are salivating over the prospect of Sevilla's first ever visit to Anfield.

The local paper talks of "where the Gods play" - a reference to the Champions League competition but also to the fabled status of Liverpool's home stadium.

Sevilla beat Liverpool with something to spare in the 2016 Europa League final - but much of their landscape has changed since then - a real churn of players and a third different manager.

They will again be highly competitive and have made an unbeaten start in La Liga. Jesus Navas and Steven N'Zonzi will be familiar foes but Nolito is out with injury..

The teams that finished fourth in Spain and England last season should ultimately both proceed to the knock out stages from Group E.

Spain midfielder Marco Asensio will miss Real Madrid's Champions League opener against Apoel Nicosia because of an infected pimple.

Asensio, 21, had been shaving his legs, external and the infection to the pimple "stopped him pulling up his socks", said manager Zinedine Zidane.

Forward Cristiano Ronaldo is available for the holders as he serves a domestic suspension for pushing a referee.

Defender Raphael Varane returns from an adductor muscle problem.

Dele Alli is suspended for tonight's match with Dortmund following his red card against Gent in the Europa League in February.

Yesterday I spoke to Harry Kane and asked how much they will miss him.

"He’s a fantastic player and we will miss him. But fortunately we have a fantastic squad and I’m sure whoever comes in will be ready to compete on the big stage. Of course Dele’s a miss, but that’s football. It’s done and we have to move on.

“Dele will play how Dele plays. He’s that sort of player. That’s football. Sometimes you make mistakes and you have to learn from it, and and I’m sure he will do.

"Of course he’s gutted to be missing these games, as anyone would, but he’s staying determined and will make sure he’s ready for the last three games of the campaign.”

We will hear more from Harry Kane on 5 Live Sport just after 1900.

Liverpool vs Sevilla is 'real Champions League' - Klopp

Philippe Coutinho is "fit and healthy" but Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp would not say if he would make his first club appearance of the season against Sevilla when asked yesterday.

Now we know. He's on the bench.

Coutinho, who tried to force a move to Barcelona by putting in a transfer request in August, missed his club's first five games with a back injury.

Despite playing twice for Brazil, the forward was left out of Saturday's 5-0 defeat by Manchester City.

Goalkeeper Ederson has been named in Manchester City's line-up tonight. The Brazilian, 24, needed eight stitches in his face after being caught by a high boot from Sadio Mane during the 5-0 win over Liverpool on Saturday.

But he trained on Tuesday wearing a headguard to protect the affected area.

"After the game, he was speaking to the boys like nothing happened," said manager Pep Guardiola.

"It shows the character he's got. He is here now and he's got protection."

Will he wear this, Petr Cech-style tonight?
