    Group D

Chelsea's failure to win at home against Atletico Madrid means Antonio Conte's side could now face La Liga leaders Barcelona in the last 16.

Barca, who had already guaranteed top spot before today, ended their group campaign with a 2-0 win against Europa League-bound Sporting Lisbon. Paco Alcacer and a late own goal from Sporting's Jeremy Mathieu give Barca the win at the Nou Camp.

Elsewhere in Group D, Juventus win 2-0 against Olympiakos to take second spot. Juan Cuadrado and Federico Bernardeschi with the goals in that one.

You’d have to say it has been an excellent night for united.

It’s been very comfortable for them and there's been no fresh injuries, a victory and they have momentum.

Shaw has been lively and Mata was terrific in stages. All in all, a fantastic night for Manchester United.

    Chelsea 1-1 Atletico Madrid

So close! Wonderful solo effort from Michy Batshuayi as he clips a shot on goal from 20 yards, it looks to be in but just fades wide at the last possible moment.

Have Chelsea settled for a point? The tempo has slowed a touch. Atleti know they are finishing third now.

    Manchester United 2-1 CSKA Moscow

Manchester United are heading for the last 16, with five wins out of six group games, with only a 1-0 loss in Switzerland against Basel spoiling their record.

But it means they will definitely avoid Barcelona and, as it stands, Paris St-Germain in the next phase.

We have been talking a lot about Luke Shaw, but I have really enjoyed Mata’s performance.

Some of his forward running has been exceptional at times.

  15. SHOCKER!published at 21:28 Greenwich Mean Time 5 December 2017

    Chelsea 1-1 Atletico Madrid

That's a really poor strike! Eden Hazard beats his man again on the left and puts it on a plate for sub Willian, OK he's on the edge of the area but it's cut back beautifully into his path. Willian slices a shot way, way over the top and immediately stares at a bobble.

At the other end Atletico skim a pass across the six-yard line - so nearly a tap-in!

He has not had much to do in this second half, but United goalkeeper Sergio Romero has just kept his side ahead, saving excellently with his foot to deny Alan Dzagoev.

Quite a few of the CSKA fans have decided to go topless for the last 10 minutes, and that prompted a home fan up above them to do the same. I was wondering how long it would be before his T-shirt came back on - about two minutes max.

The CSKA lot are sticking with it of course. If you can handle it in Moscow in December there's not much you're not ready for.

Kev McVeigh: Is Winning the group that important? Chelsea win and potentially get Real Madrid, Bayern, Juve. Second they get Barca or PSG.

Viresh Mistry: Pedro showing how superbly effective he can be within the last 10 minutes of he being on the field. Needs to be getting a lot more starts for Chelsea whether it be in the league or in cup games

Ray O'Brien: Takes an own goal to beat Oblak in the end. He is some keeper by the way. It's unlike Atletico to have a worldy between the sticks...

Barcelona were already certain of top spot and Juventus are heading through as well, as they still lead 1-0 away at Olympiakos thanks to Juan Cuadrado's first-half goal.

Barca, meanwhile, still lead 1-0 against Sporting Lisbon because of Paco Alcacer's strike.

    Chelsea 1-1 Atletico Madrid

    Simon Stone
    BBC Sport at Stamford Bridge

Chelsea are pushing for the winner, which is understandable given the two potential opponents from tonight's matches they could get in the last 16 are Barcelona and Paris St-Germain.

However, if the win the group, it could be Juventus or Bayern Munich, plus Basel.

Four more groups to finish tomorrow but a couple of group winners are not going to get much of a reward for their efforts.
