  1. goal

GOAL - Manchester United 1-1 CSKA Moscowpublished at 21:06 Greenwich Mean Time 5 December 2017

    Romelu Lukaku

And we are level. It comes from a delightful, floated ball in from Paul Pogba, Romelu Lukaku is too strong for Viktor Vasin and sticks out a leg to divert the ball into the net. That is only his second goal in 13 matches.

Jose Mourinho/Luke Shaw update: There was a pronounced nod of approval as Shaw outmuscled his man on the sidelines just now. It's the most animated Manchester United's manager has been all evening. Even Marcus Rashford's dangerous free-kick didn't coax his hands from his coat pockets. The way the home side are building momentum though, you feel that will change - and soon.

    Chelsea 0-1 Atletico Madrid

    Simon Stone
    BBC Sport at Stamford Bridge

It didn't look as though anyone had told Diego Simeone about Roma's goal before his own side scored but the Argentine's reaction was still to play it down.

A lot of commotion followed, with the celebration and the substitution and I have just seen Simeone shrug his shoulders a couple of times, so I am guessing he is now aware of the position.

Unless Qarabag come back, his side are out. Unless they come back, Chelsea will finish runners-up.

    Manchester United 0-1 CSKA Moscow

Marcus Rashford has space to run into down the right, he then links up with Juan Mata and Paul Pogba, but the Russians have managed to get back into their positions and a promising attack for the hosts fizzles out.

  6. goal

GOAL - Celtic 0-1 Anderlechtpublished at 21:03 Greenwich Mean Time 5 December 2017

    Pieter Gerkens (62 mins)

Great header! Pieter Gerkens meets a cross from the right and flicks in off the inside of the post.

Anderlecht need two more to usurp Celtic and take third and a place in the Europa League.

Marcus Rashford's curling free-kick looks to be heading for the top corner but the wall does its job, with the ball deflecting away for a corner, which comes to nothing.

  9. Postpublished at 21:00 Greenwich Mean Time 5 December 2017

    Manchester United 0-1 CSKA Moscow

Free-kick to Manchester United 20 yards from goal, central. Danger for CSKA Moscow. It comes after Paul Pogba was chopped down by Vasili Berezutski, who is cautioned.

  10. goal

GOAL - Chelsea 0-1 Atletico Madridpublished at 21:00 Greenwich Mean Time 5 December 2017

    Saul Niguez (56 mins)

It's all kicking off in Group C!

Chelsea just forget how to defend a corner as Fernando Torres flicks it on at the near post and Saul is left in yards and yards of space inside the penalty area. The midfielder buries a header into the top corner!

As it stands, Atletico are still heading out because of that Roma goal.

    Manchester United 0-1 CSKA Moscow

You know how we mentioned that 37-page Fifa document about the offside laws? Well ESPN's Dale Johnson has done some digging on the FA's website and has come up with the following...

  12. Roma top the grouppublished at 20:59 Greenwich Mean Time 5 December 2017

Roma have now finally taken the lead, Diego Perotti putting them ahead .

Chelsea will finish second as it stands.

  13. HITS THE WOODWORKpublished at 20:58 Greenwich Mean Time 5 December 2017

    Chelsea 0-0 Atletico Madrid

Chelsea have been doing all of the running since half time but just like that they are almost behind. Filipe Luis hits a superb dipping shot from the edge of the area which beats Thibaut Courtois but smacks against the base of the post. Koke reacts well to meet the loose ball with a flying header and Courtois catches it!

A half chance for Romelu Lukaku, but the ball is waist high and he cannot make a proper connection on the volley.

Momentum is so important in football. United will want to win this game.

Shaw has been very quick and I’ve been impressed. It’s been nice to see and he has certainly started the second half well

Iqram Hakim: Man Utd just not clinical enough, time to bring on the big guns, Martial and Ibrahimovic.

Páidi: CSKA goal isn't offside, Manchester united player off the pitch behind the goal. Two united players in front of the scorer.

John Mc: Definitely onside. United defender behind dead ball line doesn’t suddenly become inactive.

One thing we are certain about is that Manchester United will not be bringing on Zlatan Ibrahimovic today as he is not on the bench.

  17. goal

GOAL - Bayern 2-1 PSGpublished at 20:56 Greenwich Mean Time 5 December 2017

    Kylian Mbappe (50 mins)

That is top class! What a team goal from PSG. Marco Verratti with a lovely ball over the top to find Edinson Cavani on the right of the penalty area, he kills it with one touch and then chips it perfectly into the run of Kylian Mbappe, who plants the header into the net.

    Manchester United 0-1 CSKA Moscow

Fifa has taken the easy option, maybe. They are now claiming the goal was from Vitinho, whose shot bounced in off of Alan Dzagoev, who may or may have not been offside apparently depending on your interpretation of the rules of offside.

On Fifa's website there is a 37-page document on the offside rules, although they seem to not mention what happens if a player is off the pitch at the time of the pass / shot. Confused? You're not alone. We'll hear more about that later on.

  19. CLOSE!published at 20:54 Greenwich Mean Time 5 December 2017

    Chelsea 0-0 Atletico Madrid

That's a good chance! Andreas Christensen is left all alone in the middle to climb but all he can do is plant a header straight at Jan Oblak.

Eden Hazard then goes on a superb mazy run which ends with a shot deflected over. And Chelsea complete a hat-trick of chances inside a minute when Cesc Fabregas' corner is headed by Alvaro Morata straight at Oblak...

If the score stays like this, and Roma beat Qarabag (currently 0-0) then Roma would top the group.
