    Man Utd 4-0 Everton

    Simon Stone
    BBC Sport at Old Trafford.

Romelu Lukaku has now scored seven goals in his first seven Manchester United games.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Robin van Persie both scored five in the same period.

You have to feel for Ronald Koeman - stood there with his hands in his pockets. I'm sure you'll get a few passionate Everton fans having a go at him but I don't think that's fair.

He can't legislate for Ashley Williams' mistake or the handball for the penalty.

When a scoreline doesn't tell the full story. The again, what do they say about the good teams being able to do it when they aren't at their best? Manchester United still put four past Everton, who have lost four on the bounce. Glory, glory Man United inside Old Trafford.

Correct decision. Great pace and power from Martial. It was a good penalty.

    Anthony Martial (penalty)

The scoreline says 4-0, but that doesn't tell the full story. Manchester United have turned it on in the final 10 minutes and Anthony Martial gets the fourth by slotting the spot-kick. Huge noise inside Old Trafford, where Ronald Koeman looks like a very lonely man.

Stonewall. Morgan Schneiderlin handball. He doesn't even complain. Anthony Martial...

I'm pleased he celebrated. He plays for Man United now. He's had a bit of stick from the Everton fans. You score, you celebrate. He's put his hand to his ear and he's jumped for joy.

The scoreline doesn't reflect how Everton have played.

    Romelu Lukaku

It had to be him. Romelu Lukaku scores against his old club and continues the scintillating start to his Manchester United career. It's scrappy, Lukaku arriving at the back post to stab home after the ball bounces around in the Everton box. The celebrations? Unrestrained, including a cupped ear to the Everton fans.

    Manchester United 2-0 Everton

Henrikh Mkhitaryan, the goalscorer, makes way for Tony Marshall. Romelu Lukaku, by the way, made a shushing gesture to the Everton fans after the second goal went in. Probably not a great reception for him when he goes back to Goodison.

Phil Beck: As has been the case far too often over recent seasons, United's fortunes are markedly improved with Rooney off the field.

Josh Earl: Finally the 2nd goal! And breatheeee... Not a great performance but a huge win.

Kevin K: The haters are wrong, Mourinho sides play the best football in the PL. Swashbuckling counter-attacking play!

That has killed the contest. It's as if someone has let the air out of Everton's tyres. Songs around Old Trafford as Anthony Martial prepares to come on.

The weight of the pass is perfect. Mkhitaryan lifted it into the far corner and it was a composed finish.

It was poor from Ashley Williams - and he's had a good afternoon. Game over.

    Henrikh Mkhitaryan

Game over. Henrikh Mkhitaryan wraps up the points for Manchester United, as Everton mastermind their own downfall. A mistake from Ashley Williams, Romelu Lukaku does brilliantly with a pass across the front of the box to find the arriving Mkhitaryan, who sweeps the ball into the back of the net. Relief around Old Trafford.

    Manchester United 1-0 Everton

    Simon Stone
    BBC Sport at Old Trafford

Jose Mourinho has been a fairly calm presence on the touchline this afternoon.

The Manchester United manager has had his hands buried deep in his pockets for the most part and only had the occasional moan to the fourth official.

But with time ticking on and that second match-clinching goal proving elusive, he is getting a bit more annoyed.

After Jesse Lingard's penalty claim just then there was a sense of venom about his complaint as he turned to make his opinions known to fourth official Jon Moss.

No quarter given by Wayne Rooney, who gets a little kick in on former team-mate Ander Herrera. A Henrikh Mkhitaryan cross is dangerous, but cleared. Last Everton sub of the day - Wayne Rooney off, Kevin Mirallas on. A handshake to Rooney from Mourinho, chants of his name around OT.

First real sign of anger from Jose Mourinho this afternoon. He felt Jesse Lingard should have been awarded a penalty then. The United manager span around and hit the ground when referee Andre Marriner waved play on.

El Sizzy: Is Jose trying to defend this one goal lead? It's appalling, bring on Martial for crying out loud.

Lovenish Goel: Mata and Mkhi are just like Gerrard and Lampard. Wonderful individuals but awful together.

Niall Hughes: Gylfi Sigurdsson has stayed on the pitch this long purely because he cost £45m!

I've seen a replay of that penalty shout. There were three Everton men around Lingard. They practically assaulted him.
