Ashley Williams has started much better today. The back three have had no real problems, apart from the wonderful strike.

United free-kick, delivered by Juan Mata and met by the head of Michael Keane. On the occasions that Everton do get the ball forward, Wayne Rooney looks quite lonely. It's stopped raining.

I suspect there will be a few pictures of this Ashley Young-Tom Davies tussle in the papers and on social media. Young basically ended up straddling Davies' head. A bit too close for comfort.

Everton are gradually getting into this game. The wonder goal broke them down. Other than that, Jordan Pickford hasn't had a save to make.

One bright spot for Everton are the boots worn by Idrissa Gueye. Luminous yellow, visible from space. Cuco Martina gets down the right and pulls the ball back for Wayne Rooney, whose low shot goes wide of David de Gea's post. Genuine chance. Everton might not get many of those.

United have the ball midway into the Everton half, but there's no sign of a blue foot going in. The central defensive trio are actually just having a little stroll around. United, in contrast, have Marcus Rashford buzzing around like a wasp.

The Everton fans have fallen silent. They were in great voice at the start of the game but they have seen nothing to shout about from their side. It has been one-way traffic since the kick-off.

If you are going to score a rare goal, you might as well do it in style.

That thumping shot into the top corner was a collectors' item for Antonio Valencia.

The winger-turned full-back has only scored once in the Premier League since Boxing Day 2011.

That's four Manchester United managers ago.

A little light for Everton. Free-kick about halfway into the United half. Up go the big lads, but Wayne Rooney is penalised for a nudge on David de Gea. He aims a stern look at the linesman, but has no real reason to feel aggrieved.

More than 10 minutes in, Everton are yet to touch the ball in the Man Utd half!

That touch on the halfway line (below right)? The kick-off after Antonio Valencia's goal!

Ronald Koeman is off the bench, gesturing that his players need to move up the pitch. His charcoal suit is getting quite wet. Finally, the Blues get on the ball, but Wayne Rooney gives it straight back to Ashley Young.

It's still smashing down. It doesn't rain, it pours on Everton at the moment. Wayne Rooney chases shadows as the United defence play some keep-ball. If Everton get any deeper, they'll be in the front row.

Everton are stunned and United smell blood. The ball has barely been out of the blue half. The Old Trafford crowd provides the soundtrack. Even this early, it looks like the home side could dish out a shellacking here. Everton are sitting so, so deep.

Where once there was sunshine is now pelting rain. It's arrived quicker than Usain Bolt running for the bus. Jose Mourinho has a good laugh about it...

A few familiar faces on the front row of the Old Trafford directors' box this afternoon.

England boss Gareth Southgate has just turned up, along with the Under-21 manager Aidy Boothroyd.

To their right is the Belgium manager - and former Everton boss - Roberto Martinez.

Martinez was in charge when Everton last won at Old Trafford - in 2013.
