From the rebound, it looks like Sadio Mane has hit the other post.
Then Dejan Lovren has an effort blocked and on the follow-up, Mane shoots wide from a few yards out.
Boss Jurgen Klopp smiles on the touchline, suggesting he has seen this all before.

A dragback in the centre circle from Jonjo Shelvey sends Jordan Henderson the wrong way.
The former Liverpool midfielder then fizzes a pass into the feet of Matt Ritchie on the edge of the box, but the left-footer's low strike causes Simon Mignolet no problems.
A couple of comfortable saves for the Belgian early on, that will help his fragile confidence.

It has been noticeable that Newcastle are working hard in midfield and closing Liverpool down. When they are winning the ball back there is a little bit of space in front of the Liverpool defence.

Such a tidy player on the ball. Surprised no other team went in for him on-loan from Borrusia Dortmund.
He has had a couple of neat touches so far, just keeping it ticking in the middle of the park.

At the other end, Daniel Sturridge is eyeing up his customary goal against the Magpies but his chip from outside the area sails over the crossbar.
