Former Arsenal defender Martin Keown: "Mauricio Pochettino pulled Dele Ali up on his body language for walking around with his head down because it sends the wrong message. He looks at every detail. This Tottenham team are enjoying being around Pochettino.

"He would sit in an armchair after a bad game to see which players would come and speak to him. He is getting the best from every single player. If you really get on with a manager you were with him every step of the way."

West Ham defender Jose Fonte: "Mauricio Pochettino is meticulous and his attention to detail is second to none. There were cameras in the training ground and he is watching everything you do. He is very intense and you can replicate what you do in training on the pitch.

"It was demanding and tough but he is a great coach. If your body language was wrong just receiving a bib he would talk to you. I remember Luke Shaw was a like a son to him. He would put an arm around you. Myself, Adam Lallana, we all had a great relationship. There is balance in everything he does. He has a good relationship with the players."

West Ham and Portugal defender Jose Fonte: "It is always disappointing to concede in the last minutes of the game but Burnley kept up the pressure and the ball in the box. To play 65 minutes without a man and to come away from Burnley, you cannot be too down or disappointed.

"You look at our squad individually and you have to aim high - we have people that have won trophies, players with experience and young players with great quality. We have to aim high - at least top 10. I feel we have turned the corner now and are getting better and better.

"Results have to come because we are working hard in the training ground. The dressing room is strong, we are close and have a good group.

"As for Portugal, we are the European champions - everyone wants to beat the champion. But we are more confident - we know we can win against anyone, but we know there are others than can also win."

Former Arsenal defender Martin Keown: "They have scored a lot of last-minute goals which suggests there is a lot of team spirit there. It shows he knows what is necessary to turn a game around."

    Troy DeeneyImage source, Getty Images

Responding to Watford's Troy Deeney saying that he targeted the Arsenal defence after he came off the bench. He said: "Whenever I play against Arsenal, I'll go up and think 'let me whack the first one and see who wants it'."

Former Arsenal defender Martin Keown: "My blood was boiling anyway. When I played it would have been the other way around - if he came off the bench we'd have said let's let him have it. It makes me look at the DNA of players and the recruitment and does that have to change? It is just draining on the group, the saga over the two players that have to leave.

"The way they capitulated when it went to 1-1 was alarming. There is an issue with the group and Deeney identified it. When an opponent is telling you your weaknesses it is damning. Arsene Wenger needs to listen and make the adjustment. Bring a different type of individual into the football club."

West Ham and Portugal defender Jose Fonte: "You have to be able to take some and you have to be able to give some and I love playing against Troy Deeney. You need to show fight and put some strong tackles there, to let them know you are here to win and get a result."

Sunday Times journalist Jonathan Northcroft: "If he had said and done that in Martin's era then he would have been fearful for the next game but he won't now."

  20. 'Koeman will turn it around'published at 12:45 British Summer Time 15 October 2017

    Brighton v Everton (13:30 BST)

West Ham and Portugal defender Jose Fonte: "Ronald Koeman had a good relationship with the senior players at Southampton. We had the best season so I only have good things to say about him.

"We had patch of 10 games without a win and then he changed the system to a back three and from then we had an amazing season. I am confident he will turn it around. It is difficult with the changes they have had there. They have a lot of good players there."
