  1. goal

GOAL - Tottenham 4-1 Liverpoolpublished at 56 mins

    Harry Kane

More woeful defending, more grateful looking into the mouth of a gift horse from Harry Kane!

Kieran Trippier's free-kick is a good one but Simon Mignolet comes out to punch it, and there are only two Liverpool defenders in front of him. Any one of the three could and should deal with it. Instead Mignolet punches it to Jan Vertonghen, his shot is blocked on the line by Roberto Firmino, and Kane is there to gobble up the pieces.

Another quietly impressive display from Harry Winks so far. Nothing too attention grabbing, just good positioning and adroit use of the ball.

    Tottenham 3-1 Liverpool

Strong run from Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain down the Liverpool left and a good cross to the far post but it's over Mohamed Salah's head. Spurs being pushed back but that's nice from Dele Alli, a back-heel out of dodge.

  14. 'Spurs haven't had to work to score'published at 16:51 British Summer Time 22 October 2017

    Tottenham 3-1 Liverpool

    Sam Parkin
Former Luton Town forward on BBC Radio London

Eriksen just tried to float the ball over Matip's head and he was so concerned where Kane was that his header was weak. Alli has hit the ball into the ground but it is enough to beat Mignolet and find the net. Two bounces before it reaches the net. I am surprised at the ease with which Tottenham have got in today. They have scored three but haven't had to work hard at all.

    Dele Alli

Emre Can's intervention means nothing in the end! The free-kick is pumped into the area, Joel Matip can only head it out and Dele Alli lashes the volley in from 18 yards!

Good strike, but more rubbish defending. Harry Kane was the only player forward for Spurs! Liverpool could surely have dealt with that better?
