That reminds me, let's not talk about poor defensive play too much, I'm doing some of the Ashes this winter.

Any more goals before the break?

James O'Hara: Surely that's Lovren done at Liverpool now? Geoffrey Boycott could have defended better with a stick of rhubarb

Paul Lummis: Poor Dejan Lovren - even Ali Dia managed to last for 52 minutes!!

    Tottenham 2-1 Liverpool

We've had 10 goals today already and the way both sides are defending there will be more! Liverpool put a good cross in which comes to nothing before Harry Kane runs with four men around him and puts a shot wide!

Kieran Trippier needs some treatment after a strong challenge, he's back with us though.

    Tottenham 2-1 Liverpool

Jurgen Klopp puts Dejan Lovren out of his misery. He's off and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain comes on. We're not here to dig out individuals but that was a dreadful, dreadful 30 minutes from a top-class player.

Joe Gomez moves into the middle. Oxlade-Chamberlain at right-back?

At the other end Serge Aurier is then skinned by Mo Salah but his cross is dealt with.

ANY CHANCE OF DROPPING OFF A BIT?!

Every time Spurs get the ball they play it into a green ocean of space behind the Liverpool defence. Harry Kane is only a better first touch away from being clean through on goal once more.

Dejan Lovren is about to get an early cut.

Alan Hansen will be doing his nut at some of this defending as Liverpool again just clip a diagonal ball in and Mohamed Salah is allowed to run on to it. He can't do anything with it though.

Then at the other end Son does Dejan Lovren for pace and movement once again, leaving the big defender rooted to the spot to meet Dele Alli's pass but Simon Mignolet comes out to sweep up.

    Sam Parkin
Former Luton Town forward on BBC Radio London

It is a sensational ball from Henderson. I have sympathy for Kane, who had nowhere to go and lost possession. The finish is scuffed from Salah but accurate and spins inside the post. The pass was De Bruyne-esque, though.

Groundhog Day upon Groundhog Day upon Groundhog Day. Does Lovren know Klopp's deep dark secrets? I can't think of why else we didn't look for a replacement centre back in the summer.

As a Liverpool fan, I'm just so so fed up of going into any game expecting to concede awful goals and knowing it's probably going to happen.

    Mohamed Salah

Hello! Liverpool are back in this game out of nothing! Again it's fairly direct, Harry Kane wants a foul on halfway and doesn't get it, Jordan Henderson looks up to clip a cracking ball through into the path of Mohamed Salah, and he miscues a shot across goal and in of the post.

A really patchy connection, but it did the job!

Diego Maradona doesn't look too impressed next to Daniel Levy. Not too much individual skill for him to admire so far.

    Tottenham 2-0 Liverpool

Incredibly, Spurs are in on goal again as Son and Harry Kane sprint in on a bewildered Joel Matip but this time the Korean can't link up with his strike partner.

    Tottenham 2-0 Liverpool

Manchester United and Liverpool have both conceded goals this weekend within seconds of the opposition keeper clearing downfield. Embarrassing isn't it?

Victor Lindelof and Dejan Lovren must have cost about £50m between them. How much for a defender who can head the ball away?

    Tottenham 2-0 Liverpool

North London 7-2 Merseyside with 75 minutes to go, and it's nearly three for Spurs!

Kieran Trippier again finds the acres and acres of space behind the Liverpool backline and Son whacks a shot across goal, and off the underside of the crossbar. Lovely hit.

    Tottenham 2-0 Liverpool

A goal and an assist for Harry Kane inside 15 minutes, and two poor bits of play from Dejan Lovren at the back for Liverpool. Not a vintage weekend for centre-backs wearing red.

Dejan Lovren has had a shocker. Dear oh dear oh dear oh dear.

Liverpool corner, Hugo Lloris claims it, quick throw out. Lovren goes to head the ball on halfway, misses the ball and Harry Kane is in on goal.

Kane looks up, slots in Son and he side-foots home. So easy. So clinical.

Spurs are going level on points with Manchester United as it stands. A long way to go of course. Son finds Harry Kane running in behind the Liverpool defence, incisive. Comes to nothing.

    Tottenham 1-0 Liverpool

That goal will prove frustrating for Jurgen Klopp and Liverpool fans. It's the same old weaknesses exposed game after game.

Brilliantly finished by Harry Kane though.

    Harry Kane

That didn't take long! The 'Harry Kane team' lead and it's not great from Simon Mignolet.

It's very easy for Spurs in fact as Kieran Trippier chips a pass over the top, Kane is inbetween Mignolet and Joel Matip and clips home from 12 yards out.

His first league goal at Wembley.

    Tottenham 0-0 Liverpool

Scrappy opening to the game, but Dele Alli seems to be playing a touch deeper than you'd maybe expect for Tottenham. James Milner is back in midfield for Liverpool today.
