The first alarm bells to ring inside Scotland's defensive ranks. James McArthur loses possession and the hosts break at speed. Novikovas shows great awareness inside the box but fires a shot wide of Craig Gordon's goal.
The Scots are warming to the task. James Forrest scampers down the right after collecting possession, feeds Kieran Tierney who in turn plays in Stuart Armstrong. The midfielder sees his effort drift wide.

Scotland come within a whisker of taking an early lead. Good work from Andy Robertson on the left and the Liverpool full-back finds Leigh Griffiths. The Celtic striker fires a fierce left-foot drive that speeds inches wide.
Better from Scotland as they string together a few passes in defence and midfield but a promising move fizzles out. A bit more composure on the ball would please Gordon Strachan.
It's an early aerial assault from Gordon Strachan's side in the opening minutes but nothing to trouble Setkus in LIthuania's goal.
Leigh Griffiths will be hoping for better service into his feet once the game settles...
Scotland defender Charlie Mulgrew launches a ball high into the Vilnius night sky and down towards the darting run of Matt Phillips but it trundles out for a Lithuania goal kick.

The LFF Stadium may be tiny but the few thousand spectators here are already making a fair old racket. Lithuania appear to have an ultras area where most of the local noise is coming from. The Tartan Army are giving it big licks too, with Doe A Deer currently on its thousandth verse.

Tonight's World Cup qualifier at the LFF Stadionas will be played on an artificial surface. A reason to complain for the Scotland players?
BBC Sportsound pundit Willie MIller is having none of it.
"Not at this stage [use it as an excuse] in the qualification campaign," booms the bold Willie. "There are no excuses for a game like this even when you factor in the pitch and the heat.
"We've got ourselves into a position where only a victory will do us. Even with the heat and the playing surface, we must get a performance and must win. In fact, we don't even have to perform - we must just win!"
