    France 1-0 Wales

    Dafydd Pritchard
BBC Sport Wales at the Stade de France

That first half flew past, a blue, red and white blur of French chances.

It was an utterly dominant start from France, though they rather took their foot off the gas as the half wore on.

Wales will be relieved they are only one goal down.

Johnny Magrinho: Pickford clearly showing he should be England no.1 next year. Good with his feet, commands his area well, quick to get down to make a save, great at one-on-ones... He's an all-rounder and provides great stability to a defence that has never really been seen as stable.

Abdullah Mulla: The starting goalkeeper at the World Cup for England has to be either Butland or Pickford.

Sam Kirklees: Livermore has been decent but I'd like to see more control in midfield. Loftus-Cheek's been decent. Jones was very good until the injury. The best English defender.

    England 0-0 Germany

    Ian Dennis
BBC Radio 5 live senior football reporter at Wembley

A useful examination for this inexperienced England side.

Germany should be ahead, with Leroy Sane in eye-catching form. He's cracked the crossbar and had a header off the line.

It was always Gareth Southgate's intention to start with Jordan Pickford and he has made two terrific saves, both from Timo Werner

It's a different test to the qualifying campaign, with England not seeing as much of the ball, but there have been some encouraging moments with Jamie Vardy and Tammy Abraham causing a nuisance.

This has been a really good half of football and England manager Gareth Southgate will have seen plenty to enjoy, with all three of the debutants in his starting line-up making their mark.

And England's fans, who have been unimpressed by recent games at Wembley, have enjoyed it as well.

    England 0-0 Germany

Decent half of football, that. Not brilliant, but decent.

Germany are a class side. Leroy Sane has brought his club form to the occasion and has gone closest with a shot that hit the bar. Jordan Pickford has also rescued England twice with good saves.

But the home side have had their moments. They finished the half stronger.

    France 1-0 Wales

Fair play to Wales. After Antoine Griezmann's opener, it looked as though France would punish them further. But they have stuck to the task and held this very talented opponent at bay.

England enjoying a decent little period to end the half.

Jake Livermore has a pop but drags his shot from outside the box wide.

Seconds later, Ruben Loftus-Cheek fails to control a Kieran Tripper in the box when a decent touch would have set up a shot at goal.

And finally, Jamie Vardy is sent running clear by Loftus-Cheek but can't direct his lob either towards goal or a team-mate.

Oh, a whisker away! Tammy Abraham is inches from a debut goal as his shot from inside the box deflects and loops off Rudiger and just wide.

The resulting corner is headed firmly away by Hummels.

Germany always look like they've been playing together for years. They look so comfortable and so content on the ball.

Jordan Pickford is having a superb game.

He pulls out another great save after Danny Rose's lax defending allows Timo Werner to break clear. The shot that follows is low and on target but can't beat the Everton keeper.

Danny Rose has had to bide his time, for his club side let alone his country.

He gets a chance to put his name up in lights as Harry Maguire's low ball finds him on the edge of the box. But his effort is blocked.

    Chance for Wales!

    Phil McNulty
BBC Sport chief football writer at Wembley

Phil Jones looked utterly crestfallen as he went off injured. He has played himself back into England's plans for the World Cup and yet once again he has succumbed to injury - and no doubt Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho will be less than impressed.

Busy night so far for Everton goalkeeper Jordan Pickford on his England debut and he has started well.

England win a corner but waste it as Kieran Trippier aims for the edge of the box but to high for a team-mate to get a proper headed connection.

Soon after, Germany are almost in at the other end and John Stones has to concede a corner...
