  1. CLOSE!published at 52 mins

    Tottenham 2-0 Everton

Speaking of Son Heung-min, he should have another assist. He plays a super ball through the defence and Dele Alli is through on goal but he takes one touch too many and ultimately slams his shot into the sidenetting.

For me, there's nothing more exciting for a crowd to watch than a player dribbling a ball at great pace with control - and Son Heung-min is treating us tonight.

  4. One for VAR?published at 51 mins

    Tottenham 2-0 Everton

The Video Assistant Referee system (VAR) didn't have any controversial moments to deal with in the two cup games it was used last week, but it would have had a field day today.

There was an incident in the Watford-Southampton game and now this one where it most definitely would have come in handy.

  5. 'Kane can't miss from there'published at 18:36 Greenwich Mean Time 13 January 2018

    Tottenham 2-0 Everton

It's all about Tottenham's player of the moment - Heung-min Son - it's a lovely bit of skill to turn away from Jonjoe Kenny. Then, he's drove into the box and put it on a plate for Harry Kane, who can't miss from there.

GOAL - Tottenham 2-0 Evertonpublished at 48 mins

    Harry Kane

Harry Kane - who else? Although was he offside?

Wonderful skill by Son Heung-min as he spins Jonjoe Kenny, giving him a clear run on goal. He waits for his team-mates to get into the box before playing a low ball for Kane, who slams in.

Kane looks over his shoulder at the linesman, the flag stays down and Spurs get lucky. He looked offside to me.

Everton players are back out on the pitch nice and early. Tottenham's lot are milling about in the tunnel having a natter.

Cenk Tosun likes to get around the pitch. He was popping up on all sides and had the most shots out of any Everton player with two, although both were blocked.

Laurie, Camberley: Spurs fortunate to be ahead with a few players nowhere near their best. Kane off the pace and several poor controls, Aurier not making the most of the space presented down the right. On the positive side Dele looking much better than previous months and Dembele had a good half. This could be tight, Spurs definitely need a second which could then also open the flood gates.

Very exciting first half actually, and we've got a great crowd here under the lights at Wembley. Tottenham started really well and had a few early chances, but after that Everton began to grow in confidence. Though, once Serge Aurier finally got his delivery right, Heung-min Son was in, and Spurs took a deserved lead. I really feel the next goal in this game will be crucial, because Everton have looked dangerous, but Spurs should have enough to wrap up the three points in the second 45.

Garry: Tosun looks like the type of player that will pick up a few red cards in the premier league.

    Surely it's Tosun to say?

  14. HALF-TIMEpublished at 18:17 Greenwich Mean Time 13 January 2018

Wise move to go early. Guaranteed to get those steak and ale pies before they sell out as indeed nothing does happen before the referee blows for half time.

Plenty of fans are not expecting any late drama before the break as there's loads of them making a move for a half-time pie.

It's been a pretty impressive performance from Spurs so far, I think Mauricio Pochettino will be pleased. But Everton are looking dangerous on the break, and you'd think Spurs would need another goal to make it safe in the second half.

Andrew, York: You are most welcome Everton fans. I put Mr Kane in my fantasy team this morning so he MOST DEFINITELY will not score.

I'm not sure that's quite how it works Andrew...

  18. YELLOW CARDpublished at 44 mins

    Tottenham 1-0 Everton

First yellow card of the game as Phil Jagielka lunges a touch wildly at Dele Alli as the Tottenham forward threatened to break through.

Christian Eriksen takes the free-kick... and balloons it well over the bar.

Paul Charles: Often in Harry Kane's shadow but what a great player Son Heung-min is.

Mark Taylor: I fully agree about Son Heung-min, but I would not say that anybody underrates him. They would do so at their peril!

  20. Poor decision making from Tosunpublished at 18:11 Greenwich Mean Time 13 January 2018

    Tottenham 1-0 Everton

    Bradley Allen
Ex-QPR striker on BBC Radio London at Wembley

What a big moment that was. Everton had a lot of space there, but as Cenk Tosun got beyond Spurs' backline, he's looked for the cut-back, and it was the wrong decision. He's got to shoot or fire a cross across goal there.
