I've liked a lot of what I've seen from Cenk Tosun, but not in this instance. The forward initially does well to charge forward with the ball down the left but his cutback into the area is poor and a promising chance come to nothing.

As expected, the hosts are dominating possession but are also much more of a threat in the final third. They've had four shots on target compared to none for Everton.

Tottenham are having a lot of success down the right, they're really targeting Cuco Martina. Martina's an inverted left-back, and he's not having a great time of it at the minute, Christian Eriksen is having a lot of joy against him.

Tottenham are back on the hunt for a second as Christian Eriksen curls the ball behind the Everton defence. Dele Alli and Son Heung-min are lurking inside the box but the cross is too close to Jordan Pickford.

Fair play to the visitors, they're trying to lock into Tottenham's half of the field and attack them. It just hasn't quite happened for Everton yet.

Tottenham just need to stay professional here, they've earnt a deserved lead, but this little 15 minutes before half time is a crucial period of the game.

Here's a chance for Everton to bite back.

The ball is worked out wide to Yannick Bolasie. Jonjoe Kenny picks it up from his team-mate on the overlap and crosses for Cenk Tosun, who cushions a header well over the bar.

Jamie Mills O'Brien: Honestly what is the point of Sam Allardyce if even the defence is a total shambles? Non-existent attack is a given.

Dennis Ethan: Sam Allardyce out. I don't see this losing streak stopping while he's still at helm.

Son Heung-min has now scored in five consecutive home games in the Premier League, the first Tottenham player to do that since Jermain Defoe between November and December 2004.

It's a really clinical goal from Spurs. It's a great pass out to Serge Aurier, and he's hammered it into the box, and Son Heung-min was there to finish it - what a rich vein of form he's in by the way. Super goal from Spurs.

And then Tottenham go straight on the attack as Harry Kane almost exploits the first bit of space he has had so far to get a shot off on goal but hits it straight at Jordan Pickford.

The game is opening up.

I don't have a crystal ball - but I just said it - somebody flick it on and somebody else flick it in - I've seen Sam Allardyce teams score that goal hundreds of times. But sadly for Everton, Wayne Rooney's just anticipated the flick-on a second early.

Everton win a couple of quick corners, Cenk Tosun meets the second, heading towards goal where Wayne Rooney nips in to head into the roof of the net but he's offside.

Tottenham are really bossing this game - Mousa Dembele has been imperious in the middle of the park - he's really making them tick.

Everton fans will be happy with how their side has so far dealt with Harry Kane. He's barely had a sniff with almost 20 minutes on the clock.

I think that might have gone in if Son Heung-min hadn't touched it - I think it was a shot. He's just taken it over the bar, and I don't think Christian Eriksen will be very happy with his team-mate there.
