Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho speaking to Sky Sports about Henrikh Mkhitaryan's future: "He is our player so I can speak about him. He has a lot to offer us. Is he going to be involved in leaving us? It is possible. The market is open."

Chris White: As an #NUFC, external fan I have vivid memories of a certain Manchester team overcoming a 12 point gap in 1996. Although it pains me to admit it, if any club can do it they can

Stoke captain Darren Fletcher to Sky Sports: "Eddie has done a fantastic job in difficult circumstances - we gave everything for him.
"A new manager does give players a lift, it's a clean slate for everyone, the lads know that. We are fighting for our lives, we are in a relegation battle.
"I have played with Paul Lambert on my Scotland debut which makes me feel old, he has done good jobs in difficult circumstances in the Premier League. I think we have a very good manager."

Stoke coach Eddie Niedzwiecki on Sky Sports: "I was proud of them. I thought we started really well. But they're clinical and so much quality. We worked to a plan and for the first goal we didn't do that plan.
"You have to be clinical at this level and when you play the top teams yo have to take those chances.
"I thought we showed really good signs for the new manage - I thought the right-back (Moritz Bauer) was outstanding. I thought the guys in midfield worked their socks off.
"Paul Lambert told me before the game he wasn't going to get involved and he paid me that respect.
"He came in at the end of the game. I said my piece. It's a big challenge staying in he Premier League. We're still in the pack and now's the time for everyone to get behind their new manager.
What's next for you? "I don't know - next few days I'll know maybe."

Stoke coach Eddie Niedzwiecki to BBC Sport: "You need to be clinical at places like this and we had our chances and didn't take them.
"We have not been able to start a consistent back four or five all season, organisation is massive in this game. The goals were special today that beat us, we need a foundation.
"Paul Lambert said a few words to the players in the hotel before the game but he showed me the respect, it was my team today. I enjoyed the experience but it has been incredibly difficult personally.
"I will find out my future in the next 48 hours, I know how the game works."

Are Manchester United in the driiving seat to sign Alexis Sanchez?
United boss Jose Mourinho tells Sky Sports: "I've no idea. Today I was completely separate from all of that - I was just focused on my match and not worried about anything else.
"I'm not going to speak about hypothetical situations. Probably there are other clubs also interested and trying and I shouldn't talk about a player who is an Arsenal player."

Manchester United
Manchester United Jose Mourinho to BBC Sport: "Stoke bought players to play football, they were not afraid to play and they created us problems in the first half.
"I didn't watch Liverpool beat Manchester City, it doesn't change anything. The distance is an important distance, I have been there before.
"They have their destiny in their hands.
"No news on Alexis Sanchez, he is an Arsenal player, if he stays it's great for Arsenal, if he comes to us, great for us, if he goes to another club, great for them."
Jose Mourinho says 'I have no idea' about the latest on any transfer move for Alexis Sanchez.
"Probably there are other clubs also interested," he says.

Man United win 3-0 without being spectacular and still get criticised for not scoring more. Love it.

BBC Sport's Simon Stone is reporting tonight that Manchester City are ending their interest in Arsenal's Alexis Sanchez, leaving Manchester United and Chelsea as the remaining options.
It is thought Man City do not want to commit to the transfer fee and wages for a player who is out of contract in the summer.
Here comes Jose Mourinho - let's see if he bites on the question.

There have been so many players performing well at Manchester City, they can knock on the door and ask to be paid the same as Alexis Sanchez.
But United players could do the same as well.
I could see him sitting tight at Arsenal - let's say he wants however much a week. Other players will say the same. If he waits until the end of the season he can say 'I've saved you £30m and I want this wage now'.
If Jose Mourinho gets Sanchez, I think he'll take Juan Mata out. Anthony Martial has done well. He could take Jesse Lingard's role. It will probably either be Mata or Lingard.
If you missed the news a little earlier on this evening, Manchester City have pulled out of the race to sign Arsenal forward Alexis Sanchez.

Manchester United
Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba to Sky Sports: "To be honest we are playing very well at the moment, I am more forwards and have more freedom to attack.
"Our performance was very positive. I can use my ability more, my power, I can shoot and make assists. It suits me more.
"Man City are in front of us, we always want to catch them, it was good that they lost but we have to think about ourselves. We have to win games, we have lost a lot of points."

Jon Evans: Lambert is a poor man's Pulis. Same style of football just not so effective. Crouch might get some goals though

Paul Lambert will probably look and think he's got some nice footballers, particularly in midfield. He'll want somebody up front to help Peter Crouch, someone with pace.
United have done well tonight without the 'wow' effect - they've managed the game well and Paul Pogba was the best player on the park.
The Manchester United of old would have scored five, six or seven tonight but this isn't the Manchester United of old.

If I was a season ticket holder I'd be asking for a % back on my fee - both teams gave up after 75 minutes!
