  1. Worst defence in Europe?published at 54 mins

    Man United 2-0 Stoke

Stoke have conceded 49 league goals this season - more than any other team in Europe's big five divisions.

Tightening up looks key. The rain comes down again after a momentary lapse and Romelu Lukaku drills a shot straight at Jack Butland.

The pocket of Stoke fans are singing Paul Lambert's name loudly and continually at the start of this second half.

Huddersfield, Watford, Bournemouth. They are the first three teams that Paul Lambert will face in charge of Stoke. Chris Waddle says they should win two of them.

They have played pretty well tonight I think.

    Man United 2-0 Stoke

Paul Pogba continues to run the show at times, picking up a loose ball in midfield and sending Anthony Martial in on goal. The pass is maybe a touch overhit though, or maybe Jack Butland just reacts very well as he smothers it. More goals in this?

If it stays like this by the way United will be 12 points adrift of runaway leaders Manchester City at the top, while Stoke stay a point adrift in the bottom three.

Stoke have made a half-time change - Kevin Wimmer on for Josh Tymon. Three at the back or someone filling in at left-back? We're back up and running.

That was brilliant from Xherdan Shaqiri and it's a great save from David de Dea. Two wonderful finishes have put Man Utd in front, I don't think they've been convincing but they're 2-0 up.

Paul Pogba is way ahead of everyone on his team. He's pointing where he wants them to run, which is embarrassing at this level.

Good half. Stoke were good in some areas but gave too much room at the back at times and Manchester United have scored two screamers.

  15. GREAT SAVE!published at 46 mins

    Man United 2-0 Stoke

Almost a brilliant goal for Stoke right on half time! Xherdan Shaqiri kills a pass into his feet with a gem of a touch, he dummies his way past a defender with a second touch and then tries to pass the ball into the corner but David de Gea extends a paw and gets a great touch on it.

I asked you to correct me and you have. Viva la Lambert revolution.

Who said Lambert never attacked away from home? Norwich 1 - Colchester 7 - Up the U's

    Mark

Norwich beat Spurs away- not as good then granted but they had Bale- and drew 3-3 at Arsenal under Lambert.

From Tom, Norwich fan in London.

Interesting this Stephen Ireland subject, when Lambert joined Villa it was the end for Ireland and he moved to Stoke. Now here he is starting with new boss Lambert in the stand. Also after almost 3 years without PL appearance he still managed to keep the Number 7 shirt #Bizarre .

    Not enough end product?

Paul Pogba has the joint-most assists in the PL this season with nine - level with De Bruyne and Sane. He pings another gem of a pass into the run of Anthony Martial but he's a smidge offside.

Stoke have played well but are going to go in at least 2-0 behind. C'est la vie.

Romelu Lukaku almost gets in on the action but his touch to take a pass inside the box is not slick enough and the ball is cleared.

Paul Pogba has been the brightest player in a Man United shirt - he picks out Anthony Martial and it's a quality finish. You don't see many better than this. He controls it and bends it and it's a class finish.

GOAL - Man Utd 2-0 Stokepublished at 38 mins

    Anthony Martial

They haven't played brilliantly, but that's two brilliant goals for Manchester United! Another superb goal. Again Paul Pogba collects the assist, a flicked pass from the right of the area into the run of Anthony Martial just outside the area. He lets the ball run into his arc and bends it past Jack Butland and into the top corner with an ease that defies logic really.

No right to make that look so simple. Just clipped it, hardly tried to hit it. Poor defending, he had far too much space.
