    What a chance!

Virgil van Dijk doesn't have any defending to do so he drifts up into midfield, spots Mohamed Salah's run and plays a great ball over the top. Salah is in on goal but smashes a first-time volley over the bar.

Lovely footwork by Jordan Ayew as he pirouettes to keep the ball away from three Liverpool players. Nice and tidy but when he gets out of trouble and looks up there's no options.

Swansea started positively but they're just doing so much defending right now. They've got to get themselves goal side of the ball

    Swansea 0-0 Liverpool

White shirts plug all the gaps as Liverpool attack. There's not a single Swansea player in the Liverpool half and it is serving to frustrate the visitors.

It isn't making for a pretty game but needs must when you are at the bottom of the table.

Salah, Mane and Firmino...we know all about their quality, their flair, but it's been a quiet start by them. Swansea have kept it tight and are very much in the game

Alfie Mawson tugs a little too hard on Mohamed Salah's shirt and Liverpool have a free kick. It's a decent position, five yards outside the area on the right. Not in shooting territory, though.

    Swansea 0-0 Liverpool

This is dangerous from Swansea. Sam Clucas clips the ball away from Joe Gomez, quickly counters before playing in Jordan Ayew. The forward gets into the box but is ushered wide by Emre Can before the ball bobbles out of play. It's a Swansea corner but it comes to nothing.

Nevertheless, promising from Swansea and a slight concern about Liverpool's defending there.

Van Dijk just won a towering header over Jordan Ayew. That's the wrong ball for Swansea tonight. It has be played down the side of Van Dijk and Matip

    Swansea 0-0 Liverpool

Andrew Robertson's low cross causes panic in the Swansea defence, Alfie Mawson's clearance hits Roberto Firmino's arm before his instinctive shot is cleared off the line by Martin Olsson.

Wouldn't have counted anyway if it had gone in. Firmino was deemed to have handled, but no way it was intentional.

Liverpool haven't really got Mohamed Salah into the game yet.

Swansea boss Carlos Carvalhal will be pretty satisfied with how his side has started this game.

It's a great ball in behind. Mane timed his run to perfection but his first touch let him down, which is unlike him. The keeper was very brave to win the ball at Mane's feet

Long ball over the top finds Sadio Mane, several Swansea players look to the linesman - not offside - Mane's first touch lets him down but Lukasz Fabianski spills the ball before Alfie Mawson sweeps away the danger.

Swansea look positive. Clucas is looking to push up alongside Ayew, with Dyer on the other side. I think Carvahal likes to do that, he's a front-foot manager
