There'll be much scrutiny on team selections this weekend, but we shouldn't have too many concerns on that front here. Should we?!

The main Liverpool question centres on Virgil van Dijk's possible debut, with Jurgen Klopp hinting at easing his record signing into the Reds set-up.

Given Everton's reluctance to attack in last month's 1-1 draw at Anfield, he may even feel that the Dutchman won't be needed.

The Toffees' approach should be more positive this time.

Successive defeats against Bournemouth and Manchester United have led to the first grumblings about 'negative' Sam Allardyce from Evertonians.

On taking over, he mentioned the FA Cup as a target, so isn't it time to have a real go in the hope of getting a first win at Anfield this century?

Chelsea manager Antonio Conte feels the club have taken a "good opportunity" to sign Everton midfielder Ross Barkley.

    The 24-year-old has completed a £15m move.

When asked about the deal, Conte told reporters Barkley was a "good prospect" but warned he was recovering from hamstring surgery in August.

"He's very young and has a lot of space for improvement," said Conte. "He is very strong, good technique."

The big news tonight off the pitch is that Chelsea have signed England midfielder Ross Barkley from Everton for £15m.

The 24-year-old has signed a five-and-a-half-year contract with last season's Premier League champions and will wear the number eight shirt.

Barkley, who leaves Everton after 13 years at the club, has not played for seven months because of a hamstring injury and had surgery in August.

Liverpool forward Philippe Coutinho will miss tonight with a thigh injury, boss Jurgen Klopp has confirmed.

The Reds are braced for another Barcelona attempt to sign the Brazil player, 25, BBC Sport has learned.

He also missed the recent win over Burnley but Klopp said: "I have nothing to say about it. All the things I could say now will only create stories."

Top scorer Mohamed Salah will also miss the match through injury. But Virgil van Dijk has just got off the bus.
