Derby's gameplan is looking good so far - yes they have soaked up a lot of pressure but every break they have had has carried a threat too.

No cards given after all that - Mason Holgate is a lucky man.

  5. 'Lost his head'published at 20:37 Greenwich Mean Time 5 January 2018

    Liverpool 1-0 Everton

    Martin Keown
Former Arsenal defender on BBC One

It looks like Mason Holgate has completely lost his head, as has Roberto Firmino.

Holgate is completely out of order pushing Firmino, but Firmino over-reacts. It was reckless and dangerous from Holgate. It was totally uncalled for and he is lucky to stay on here.

If I'm playing with Holgate, I want to calm him down.

  6. Postpublished at 20:36 Greenwich Mean Time 5 January 2018

    Manchester United 0-0 Derby

    Kevin Kilbane
Former Republic of Ireland winger on BBC Radio 5 live sports extra

Marcus Rashford definitely should score. He went for the glancing header. What a chance. He's three yards out.

  7. HITS THE WOODWORKpublished at 20:36 Greenwich Mean Time 5 January 2018

    Manchester United 0-0 Derby

Manchester United have to score - but they don't. Henrikh Mkhitaryan whips in a fine cross which finds Marcus Rashford.

The striker is unmarked, about four yards out, and he heads it straight off the post. Such a let-off.

  8. 'Soft penalty - but you run the risk'published at 20:36 Greenwich Mean Time 5 January 2018

    Liverpool 1-0 Everton

    Phil McNulty
BBC Sport chief football writer at Anfield

Real blow to Everton as they were so comfortable. Soft penalty but once Mason Holgate laid his hands on Adam Lallana that was the risk he was running.

Everton, who in fairness have not simply been sitting back, now need to find the the threat to bring them a goal.

  9. Postpublished at 20:36 Greenwich Mean Time 5 January 2018

    Liverpool 1-0 Everton

The referee is over talking to the fourth official now...

  10. Postpublished at 20:35 Greenwich Mean Time 5 January 2018

    Liverpool 1-0 Everton

It's bubbling over! Mason Holgate pushes Roberto Firmino into the crowd as he chases a ball off the pitch - that was needless and it brings a reaction from both sets of players.

That was silly from the Everton man...

Jeff Jones: Absolutely shocking penalty decision, Llalana just fell down, game's gone soft

Ashton Moore: Honestly? A pretty soft penalty. (And I'm a Liverpool fan.) And totally karma for the ultra-soft Calvert-Lewin penalty in the league. These things do even themselves out.

Craig Smith: Shocking decision, he barely touched him. Refs are giving pens way too easily. Soft has become very soft.

Andy: Adam Lallana gets a 6.5 for execution and 8.5 for artistic impression. Lightly touching someone's back doesn't constitute 'holding' and certainly doesn't make someone crash to the floor like that

  13. Postpublished at 20:32 Greenwich Mean Time 5 January 2018

    Liverpool 1-0 Everton

Some tasty challenges are coming in now - Sam Allardyce is rabid on the touchline. He was clear that the penalty Everton got last month was correct, will he feel the same tonight?

  14. 'Harsh' penaltypublished at 20:32 Greenwich Mean Time 5 January 2018

    Liverpool 1-0 Everton

    Robbie Savage
Ex-Leicester City & Wales midfielder on BBC Radio 5 live

There's not much in that - Mason Holgate, has he pulled him back? I think that's harsh.

But Liverpool fans might say the Dejan Lovren push on Dominic Calvert-Lewin in the 1-1 draw was a bit harsh.

If that went to VAR, I wonder what the decision would be?

  15. 'Naive from Holgate'published at 20:31 Greenwich Mean Time 5 January 2018

    Liverpool 1-0 Everton

    Martin Keown
Former Arsenal defender on BBC One

I don't think he is holding on to him that much, but you can't put your arms around someone like that in the box. It was very naive from Mason Holgate.

It was a very calm penalty. Milner shows a steady head and just tickles it into the other side. It is a nice penalty. It was out of nothing, it is a gift for Liverpool.

  16. WATCH: Carson tips Mata's free-kick round the postpublished at 20:30 Greenwich Mean Time 5 January 2018

    Manchester United 0-0 Derby

It's been a good end to end encounter at Old Trafford so far.

This Juan Mata free-kick is the closest either side has come.

  17. Postpublished at 20:30 Greenwich Mean Time 5 January 2018

    Manchester United 0-0 Derby

    Kevin Kilbane
Former Republic of Ireland winger on BBC Radio 5 live sports extra

Look at the body language of Henrikh Mkhitaryan. Everything he's doing at the moment is a mistake, his quality is letting him down at the final third.

  18. goal

GOAL - Liverpool 1-0 Evertonpublished at 20:29 Greenwich Mean Time 5 January 2018

    James Milner (Pen 35 mins)

As cool as you like! James Milner steps up, Jordan Pickford goes early and Milner just dinks it down the middle. His first goal of the season.

  19. PENALTY LIVERPOOLpublished at 20:29 Greenwich Mean Time 5 January 2018

    Martin Keown

Liverpool pass the ball very quickly but we haven't seen much of Adam Lallana. When he clicks he will bring everything together.
