It is good that Chelsea have plenty of youngsters on their bench, but at such a political club do you think it's perhaps more about sending a message to the board - that they have been forced to have so many youngsters on the bench?

Davide Zappacosta is having treatment. It's brought us a delay. If we get some VAR incidents now we'll be here until midnight.

A cross from the right brings a punch from Willy Caballero. And Zappacosta is back with us... for now.

Jonjo Shelvey with what we will call a 'clever foul' on Pedro, stopping his momentum in a dangerous area.

It brings about Chelsea's first attack of meaning. Davide Zappacosta swings in a good ball which is cleared. He's down on the deck now and rolling around like a kid on a snow-covered hill.

Zappacosta is not a bit happy. Wiping his brow. Massadio Haidara left a bit on him but there wasn't any real malice in it.

Michael Haimes: Interesting to see the reaction Rafa gets on his return to Stamford Bridge. Despite winning the Europa League and lifting them to a 3rd place finish he was never quite able to win over the fans. Perhaps his Liverpool days were still too fresh in the memory.

There were some reports of boos Michael.

Jonjo Shelvey is seeing plenty of early ball. Another switch sees Javier Manquillo flagged offside but I guess that tells you how high up the pitch he was an in turn shows Newcastle are prepared to commit bodies.

The sun is beating down on Rafa Benitez, he must think he's back in Valencia. His side attack for the first time through Dwight Gayle who goes down in the box. Nothing doing there and Willy Caballero hoofs clear.

Chancel Mbemba goes through the back of Eden Hazard. 'Just letting you know I'm here son'.

The Belgium international is up again though and the ball is fizzed to him. He runs at Mbemba, who slides the ball out for a corner.

Goal kick given. Hazard angry.

The FA Cup fourth round at Stamford Bridge ladies and gents.

Early possession for the home side as Newcastle sit in and feel their way into things.

"Blue is the colour, football is the game, we're all together, and winning is our aim...

"So cheer us on through the sun and rain. 'Cause Chelsea, Chelsea is our name..."

That rings out as the players take up positions. Enough of this nonsense. Let's get it on.

The players stroll out of the tunnel. Newcastle mean business and don't bother with tracksuit tops. Chelsea have their long-sleeve zip ups on. The stands look a good bit fuller now. The late arrivals must have been getting that critical pie in.

Newcastle manager Rafa Benitez, speaking to BT Sport: "Obviously it is different from the Premier League and the way you approach the game is completely different, but it is a massive game.

"We will always change players to make sure all the players are ready for the game.

"The priority is 100% to stay in the Premier League and build from that.

"Chelsea is a great team and the 11 who start can play in any team in the Premier League. It is a great team who are at home and it will be tough for us."

We have a new trend. After Eden Hazard gave his shirt to a Chelsea fan at Brighton, the movement is breaking out.

Welcome to Stamford Bridge.

No VAR here today unlike Chelsea's last home game when the home fans and Norwich fans didn't have a clue what was going on in the FA Cup. Alan Shearer called it a 'shambles' on Match of the Day that night.

As for today's game - this is Chelsea's 8th game this month. I think its fair to say they only played well in two of them. The 2 - 2 with Arsenal at the beginning of January and a four nil away win over Brighton.

Rafa Benitez has made 5 changes to his Newcastle 11. I spoke to him in the tunnel and asked him if that means a potential change of formation? "You will have to wait and see" he said as he smiled back.

Are they going 3 - 4 - 3 to match Chelsea?
