West Brom remain bottom of the table, four points adrift of safety following another costly defeat yesterday.

Despite falling behind early to Ahmed Hegazi's header, Southampton fought back to end a 12-game winless run and move out of the relegation zone.

It was an important win for Southmpton but The Baggies - who handed Daniel Sturridge a full debut following his loan move from Liverpool - desperately need to start picking up points.

  2. 'This could be special'published at 13:53 Greenwich Mean Time 4 February 2018

    Liverpool v Tottenham (16:30 GMT)

    Guy Mowbray
    Match of the Day commentator

Guy Mowbray: "The 150th league meeting of these clubs could be something special, with both coming off the back of a very good week.

"In 74 played at Anfield, Spurs have incredibly only ever won six, but they've rarely travelled with as much belief in beating Liverpool on their own patch as this time.

"Their performance in beating the Reds 4-1 at Wembley in October was as good as I've ever seen Spurs play.

"Jurgen Klopp's side responded to that defeat by going 18 games unbeaten, and the signs at Huddersfield on Tuesday were of a team ready for another long run.

"Salah, Firmino, Mane. Son, Alli, Kane - and Eriksen.

"The rubbing of hands isn't to keep warm!"

  3. Rafa in it for the long haulpublished at 13:51 Greenwich Mean Time 4 February 2018

Crystal Palace v Newcastle (14:15 GMT)

Newcastle boss Rafael Benitez thinks he will still be managing at the age of 70 because he "cannot see a normal life".

The 57-year-old has managed Real Madrid, Liverpool, Valencia and Chelsea in a 32-year coaching career.

He'll be standing alongside Crystal Palace boss and 70-year-old Roy Hodgson later today.

  4. Leicester 1-1 Swanseapublished at 13:49 Greenwich Mean Time 4 February 2018

Swansea extended their unbeaten run in all competitions to seven games with another good result against Leicester yesterday.

The Foxes were dominant but they couldn't extend their lead in the first half and it ultimately proved costly as Federico Fernandez grabbed an equaliser after the break.

Riyad Mahrez was again absent following his failed move to Manchester City but Swansea moved out of the relegation zone on goal difference thanks to the draw.

  6. 'West Ham need their best players fit'published at 13:46 Greenwich Mean Time 4 February 2018

    Brighton 3-1 West Ham

    Danny Murphy
    Former England midfielder on MOTD

West Ham are missing their two best players, in Manuel Lanzini and Marko Arnautovic, and they’ve got a few other injury problems. They’ve shown they can dig out results under David Moyes, and I think they’ll be all right. But they do need their best players fit.

Stoke manager Paul Lambert couldn't believe his side lost at Bournemouth - the Potters' first defeat since he took charge.

Peter Crouch headed against the bar when it was 1-0, but Bournemouth scored twice in a late nine-minute spell to send the Potters back into the relegation zone.

"There's no way we deserved to lose that," said Paul Lambert. "We looked so comfortable I would have been disappointed to draw, let alone lose."

    BBC Radio 5 live

The Times sports journalist Henry Winter, speaking on MOTD2 Extra, has defended Pep Guardiola:

"Guardiola's making so many intelligent points about the problems in English football and we've got to listen to him.

"The kicking, the lack of a winter break, the intensity of the football, the weakness when we're going into Europe, because of issues with defending or whatever - the FA forces have got to listen to Guardiola.

"It was pathetic what he did yesterday with the subs bench - it wasn't a completely weakened bench as Toure was on there - but we've got to listen to this guy."

  11. Parralo axed by Deportivopublished at 13:39 Greenwich Mean Time 4 February 2018

Deportivo La Coruna have fired coach Cristobal Parralo and they are now on the lookout for their third manager of the season - already!

He only took over from Pepe Mel in November but after his side were thrashed 5-0 by Real Sociedad on Friday, the club felt they had no other choice.

They are currently in 18th place in the La Liga table after picking up just three wins in 15 matches under Parralo.

He becomes the sixth coach to be dismissed by president Tino Fernandez, since he took over in 2014.

    Man Utd 2-0 Huddersfield

    Danny Murphy

Huddersfield have had a couple of tough fixtures. But they don’t look like they’re making any chances and we all know how important momentum is. There are other teams coming up around Huddersfield, and I fear for them.

  13. 'We have nice options'published at 13:34 Greenwich Mean Time 4 February 2018

    Liverpool v Tottenham (16:30 GMT)

    Liverpool

The Reds are currently enjoying a 14-match unbeaten run at Anfield in the Premier League, most recently inflicting a first domestic defeat of the season on runaway leaders Manchester City.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp: "We have a few nice options where we could make changes or not. The last game was good.

"Spurs were sharp and awake the whole game v Man United. You don't often keep United as far away from your goal as Spurs did in that game.

"It's the most similar game to playing City. When you play one of the best teams in the world you have to put in your best performance."

  14. 'Sanchez was Man Utd's best player'published at 13:32 Greenwich Mean Time 4 February 2018

    Man Utd 2-0 Huddersfield

    Alan Shearer
    Former England captain on MOTD

Alexis Sanchez made the difference. He was the player who had the drive, energy, pace and aggression. It wasn’t a great performance from Manchester United but it was a very good one from Sanchez. He was dragging his team forward with the pace of his play. He got a little bit of luck his performance deserved with the penalty round. He was their best player without a doubt.

Speaking of Alexis Sanchez, he scored his first goal for Manchester United yesterday as they comfortably beat Huddersfield.

Romelu Lukaku was also on the score-sheet at it helped send the visitors into the Premier League's relegation zone.

For United, it was an important win as they took advantage of Manchester City's dropped points at Turf Moor.

    Arsenal 5-1 Everton

    Danny Murphy
Former England midfielder on Match of the Day

Arsenal's new boys did really well. Mkhitaryan was the star of the show really. I don’t think he got the chances he should have done at Manchester United. The assists were there. Aubameyang showed great pace and calmness considering it’s a big deal when you make your debut. It was a really clever finish for his goal. When Arsenal play like this, they can beat anybody. They just don’t play like this away from home.
