The Liverpool fans around me are desperate for a second goal. Liverpool’s play has deserved a second, but Tottenham are more than capable of finding a equaliser and they have asked some questions in this second half.

Tottenham back on the attack. Left-back Ben Davies plays a wonderful ball in from the left towards Son Heung-min, but Dejan Lovren makes a well-timed clearance. Lovren has been excellent today.

Liverpool have a wobble from the resulting corner, as Harry Kane gets above Loris Karius and heads off target. Karius' appeals for a foul go unheeded.

Owain Evans: Dele Alli - utter disgrace. Why because he's been caught will he now avoid a ban for this then? If he wasn't English, he would be slated for how much diving he does.

Roberto Firmino makes a burst down the right for Liverpool, but is flagged offside as Hugo Lloris charges from the penalty area to meet him; there's a pretty heavy collision, but both players are OK. They're made of strong stuff.

It's really poor from Dele Alli. initially he'd done really well, he chested it and got himself into the box. You can hear what the Liverpool crowd think of it. He's thrown himself onto the floor.

He's rightfully booked from Jon Moss. I think if you get booked for diving, you have to give bans across the board.

Mo Salah leads an increasingly rare Liverpool break; it seems to be as much about giving the defence a breather as creating a threat. He gets past Moussa Demele, but Jan Vertonghen closes him out on the edge of the area.

An attacking change for Tottenham follows, with Erik Lamela replacing Davinson Sanchez. It loks as if Eric Dier will go to centre-back.

Peter Campbell: Defensively this is the best I've seen Liverpool in a long long time. Alexander Arnold and Van Dijk have been immense today.

Dele Alli makes a run into the area from Son Heung-min's knockdown, and goes to ground as he tries to dart between Lovren and Robertson. It's a dive by the Tottenham man, and he gets a boking from referee Jon Moss. There are no complaints from Alli.

Jurgen Klopp is prowling at the edge of his technical area at the start of this second half. Mauricio Pochettino remains sitting down. Their demeanour is being reflected by their respective teams.

The Tottenham fans are trying to rouse their side. I have just heard them singing for the first time this evening. Until now it has been the Liverpool fans making all the noise.

Jurgen Klopp makes a double change. Sadio Mane and Jordan Henderson are replaced by Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Georginio Wijnaldum.

Lors Karius still has much to do to make a convincing case to be Liverpool's long-term goalkeeper - but he saved his side there with a crucial block from Heung-Min Son.

Spurs are enjoying their best spell of the game and there are some signs of anxiety around Anfield. Such a big game this in the context of the Premier League's top four and there are finally some moments of encouragement for the visitors.

Christian Eriksen delivers an inswinger and Harry Kane stretches to reach it, but is offside. Loris Karius gathers in any case. Liverpool are really have to work to hold their lead.

Tottenham are looking far stronger as an attacking force in this second half. Ben Davies is virtually a left-winger now. Dele Alli is much more in the game too; Jordan Henderson tries to win the ball off him and concedes a free-kick out wide on the Spurs left.

Loris Karius holds his nerve and advances to block the South Korea striker's shot with his body. The ball runs lose to Alli, who drills the rebound wide through a crowd. Hope for Spurs, a warning for Liverpool.

I'm not sure Eric Dier is good enough to get the ball off the keeper and turn there.

His spacial awareness is poor. Liverpool are pressing Spurs high and getting the ball.

Tottenham have spent much of this game trying to play out from the back, but they keep getting caught in possession as Liverpool press. Eric Dier almost lost the ball near the edge of his own area a moment ago, and then Davinson Sanchez gives away possession to prompt a Liverpool counter attack involving Salah and Firmino, which ultimately comes to nothing.
