Joss Labadie plays a nice ball down the left with the outside of his boot which Frank Nouble will chase.

Nouble had some success down that left-hand side in the opening stages of the first half. Can he get back into the game more in this half?

Spurs generally always have a 'legend' on hand at half time to keep the crowd entertained, but they don't come much better than double-winner Cliff Jones.

Cliff is 83-today and as a proud Welshman was well received by everyone in the ground, including the County fans.

Pat Jennings was on hand to present him a plaque and a cake and Cliff believes this Tottenham team is set to do "special things."

Tottenham were attacking from all over the pitch in that first half - though they achieved greater success through Son Heung-min down the left.

As you can see from the heatmaps, Newport (on the right) were very much pinned into their own half apart from a few bursts down the left in the opening 15 minutes.

This was a good effort from Danny Rose and it was the closest Tottenham came to scoring before that lucky deflection off Dan Butler.

Tottenham's Erik Lamela gave Tottenham their two-goal lead.

Newport did well in the first 15 minutes. They played the ball from kick off and went deep into the Spurs defensive third and pressed well. It was a good start without testing Michel Vorm in the Spurs goal. Newport had a mountain to climb at the start of the game and now it is going to be very difficult. Newport need to change it and get a goal to make a game of it.

Joe Day pulled off a great double save from Son-Heung-Min and Erik Lamela to keep Newport's chances alive in that first half.

The visitors still have a lot to do though...

Newport County's Dan Butler was unlucky as it was his deflection which gave Tottenham that early lead in the first half.

They had started so well beforehand and it seemed to knock the stuffing out of the visitors a little.

Since then, Spurs have dominated and they look set to progress through to the fifth round with ease.

That's that. It was a comfortable first half for Spurs and all their best work has come down the left-hand side through Son Heung-min.

Newport just don't know what to do with the striker.

Into stoppage time in this first half. Newport will want to get into the changing rooms without conceding a third - which Tottenham are currently on the hunt for.

Phil Beale: To make it fair if Spurs get to the semis they should play it and final at the Emirates.

Other than the first 10 minutes when Newport started well, Spurs have looked dangerous every time they have gone forward.

While it is 2-0, Newport have a little hope and can get in at half time and maybe change their system. If they get the next goal it changes it a little bit.

Joss Labadie comes running into the box and he almost gets on the end of Frank Nouble's cross from the left but Victor Wanyama is there to snuff out the danger.

There's a few calls for handball but there didn't look to be anything in it.

Son Heung-min has already had five shots in this game - one on target - and he has that assist.

He's been the catalyst for Spurs' attacking play so far and Newport just haven't been able to handle him.
