PSG 1-2 Real Madrid (2-5 agg)

This was only PSG's second home defeat in 47 home games in Europe - Barcelona's 3-1 quarter-final success in April 2015 was the other.

It ends PSG's 100% home record this season - they had won their first 19 at the Parc des Princes.

Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane to BT Sport: "We started very well. We were focused and I believe it was a deserved win.

"It was a tough match. I'm pleased. I must congratulate the players as they're the ones on the pitch. Bravo to them.

"This is a tough ground to come to, the atmosphere is fantastic. We deserved to get through the tie."

PSG will have to start again. It shows that it is not easy to win the Champions League and you certainly cannot buy the Champions League, despite all the money they have spent.

They will certainly need a better coach than Unai Emery because it is quite clear that he will not be the PSG manager next season. I think the owners have a shortlist now. They have anticipated this.

Even if he had won the Champions League he may not have been the manager next season. There are even rumours that they tried to sack Unai Emery in December after the defeat by Bayern Munich away in the group stages.

Someone like Antonio Conte or Mauricio Pochettino will be on the shortlist. You look at someone like Luis Enrique or Allergri as well. It is an attractive club for a lot of those managers.

I don’t think Arsene Wenger is the running anymore for the job. They have tried in the past for Jose Mourinho, but him signing a new deal at Manchester United has put this one to bed for now.

Mwila Chilufya: Real Madrid and a certain 33 year old Ronaldo dump out the Paris millionaires. Not yet on “that” level guys...

Luke: I think all the money is on Mourinho being PSG manager next year. United board want rid, United are a solely commercial club, if you can't sell the brand you are gone. United are wining nothing with the dullest football. The REAL United fans at Old Trafford are bored.

  6. 'We don't wish for anybody'published at 22:12 Greenwich Mean Time 6 March 2018

    Liverpool 0-0 Porto (5-0 agg)

More from Jurgen Klopp: "Adam [Lallana] needed a few minutes to get into the game but then it was really good and very important for him to play that long. He played 90 minutes by the way.

"Danny Ings got 30 minutes in the Champions League too which is nice for him. He knows he could have scored but I am happy for him.

On potentially drawing an English team in the quarter-final: "I don't mind to be honest. I don't care. We take it how it comes. We don't wish for anybody. We played whoever we get. That is how it is. There are five English teams in and at one point we will play them so we will see when it comes."

On any injuries: "[Jordan] Henderson got a dead leg in the last minute but that should be all good. Everybody else is OK. No issues. We are fine."

TundePaul: Porto would consider their 0-0 draw with Liverpool at Anfield tonight a success as Liverpool have seen off a lot of teams this season at Anfield and be glad that there isn't a repeat of five goals scoreline like the first leg in Portugal for confidence sake.

Jason King: Emery needs to start looking for a new job.No way he can stay at PSG after that... may as well chuck everything at Real and go out...

Gavin Male: With PSG now out the Champions League it’s the perfect place for Wenger to head off at season end head held high!

  8. 'It is rare to have a game like that'published at 22:09 Greenwich Mean Time 6 March 2018

    Liverpool 0-0 Porto (5-0 agg)

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp speaking to BT Sport: "We did the job and that was it tonight.

"It wasn't the most exciting game but we controlled it, had a few chances, got a clean sheet and gave some boys some minutes. I am pretty sure it is rare to have a game like this in the knockout stages.

"We needed to be serious and we were so all good. Of course, we want to win two games at this stage. When you watch the game you always think 'oh come on, a little bit more here or there' but they did well and it is all good. The attitude was outstanding."

  10. A trip down memory lane...published at 22:04 Greenwich Mean Time 6 March 2018

    Liverpool 0-0 Porto (5-0 agg)

Remember Liverpool's last game in the quarter-finals of the Champions League? It was a scorcher.

Guus Hiddink's Chelsea led 3-1 after the first leg at Anfield but the balance of the return fixture would tip throughout the 90 minutes.

It ended 4-4 - with Frank Lampard, Didier Drogba and Xabi Alonso on the scoresheet.

Chelsea went through to meet Barcelona in the semi-final with an aggregate victory of 7-5 and it proved to be a turning point in Liverpool's European history as it has taken them almost a decade to reach this point again.

Three of Paris St-Germain's last four red cards in the Champions League have been given to Marco Verratti.

It is PSG's third red card in the knockout stages since 2012-13 - only Porto and Bayern Munich (4) have received more.

Harford James: The ref ruined the game, PSG would have pushed the game to extra time, bad officiating from Dr Felix.

Gene Chui: Have you got Emery's offer ready yet Arsenal?

Helles Mammut: Zidane has won all Champions League knockout ties as part of the coaching staff at Real Madrid, be it as second in command to Ancelotti when they won the 10th title and, of course, as head coach in the last two years and this season... impressive!

  13. 'I am still young'published at 21:59 Greenwich Mean Time 6 March 2018

    Liverpool 0-0 Porto (5-0 agg)

Loris Karius speaking to BT Sport on being Liverpool's number one: "To be a proper established goalkeeper takes a few seasons. I need to pay back the confidence from the manager. I am still young but I need to keep working hard.

"Our focus is on Saturday now [against Manchester United]. It is a very, very big game and then we will look forward to our opponents in the quarter-finals."

  14. 'This club is born to play in the Champions League'published at 21:57 Greenwich Mean Time 6 March 2018

PSG 1-2 Real Madrid (2-5 agg)

Real midfielder Mateo Kovacic to BT Sport: "It feels good. It was a difficult game. They play nice football. But we played well.

"They had the ball more than us but we were very aggressive. It's difficult to beat us when we play like that. It's amazing how it's changed when we play in the Champions League.

"This club is born to play in the Champions League."

  15. 'We will be ready for whoever'published at 21:56 Greenwich Mean Time 6 March 2018

    Liverpool 0-0 Porto (5-0 agg)

Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson speaking to BT Sport: "We are through to the next round which is the most important thing - obviously we wanted to win - but we have to give credit to Porto because they played well.

"This is the business end of the season. The next few months are very important for the team. We need to put performances in like we have been and the results will follow.

"We couldn't manage to break them down tonight but there's a big game this weekend which we need to be ready for.

"I got a dead leg at the end but I will be fine."

On whether he wants to face an English team in the quarter-final: "It doesn't matter. They are all good teams at this stage. We will be ready for whoever.

"We want to work hard and achieve big things. The attitude was brilliant tonight. Unfortunately we couldn't break them [Porto] down but I can't fault the lads - the attitude was brilliant."

Sergio Ramos was shown his 33rd yellow card in the Champions League today - more than anyone else.

He was basically playing as a third striker at stages towards the end. Loves a goal as much as a booking, that guy.

A lot of you suggesting that this proves Paris St-Germain - or any French team - will never win the Champions League.

But they have gone out to the current (back-to-back holders). That's surely a consideration, no?

I mean Real - on their day in the Champions League - can beat any side in Europe.
