    Welcome to Anfield.

A daunting prospect for FC Porto who’ve not beaten Liverpool in five previous attempts and, more remarkably, who’ve never beaten an English team on English soil in any Uefa competition and that’s after 17 attempts - two draws and 15 defeats!

They’ve not even scored on their last five visits to England so that’s the first thing they’ve got to sort out but just to balance it out they are unbeaten in the Portuguese league this season and they’ve won their last four games since that humiliation in the first leg.

It would still take a very brave/foolhardy/crazy (delete as applicable) person to bet on them turning this tie around though.

Good evening from Paris. After a glorious day in the French capital heavy rain has fallen in the last hour. However, nothing can dampen the excitement of the Parisian support who are in fine voice even now.

No Neymar but still plenty of firepower but can PSG stop Ronaldo who has scored in every Champions League match this season.

In tonight's other game, it's as near to a Champions League dead rubber in a knockout game as you can get.

A 5-0 win - including a Sadio Mane hat-trick - in Portugal means Liverpool just need to not lose by five goals or more at Anfield tonight to reach the quarter-finals.

The last time I was so certain about a European result was, um, two weeks ago in Arsenal's Europa League game with Ostersund.

When Paris St-Germain paid a world-record £200m in the summer for Neymar in a move that shook football, it was supposed to be for nights like tonight.

PSG have dominated French football for most of the past five years but have failed to make it past the quarter-final stage in the Champions League.

But tonight, for a season-defining last-16 second leg against Real Madrid, there is no Neymar. In fact, he will probably not play for the club again this season.

The Brazilian has bagged 29 goals in 30 games - including six in the Champions League group stages. He did not play poorly in the first leg against Real, although did not get on the scoresheet.

But since that game he broke his metatarsal and sprained an ankle while chasing a Marseille player late on in his side's 3-0 win.

He has had surgery and the main question now is whether he will make the World Cup.
