Helles Mammut: You would expect the big star players to show up in these games but Harry Kane has been really quiet today...

Adam Butler: I said two weeks ago Spurs need to show much respect, Juventus and more mature and experienced. They’re on the edge of going out because they didn’t shut up shop.

Another minute, another Tottenham half-chance. Still the home side can't find a chink in the Juve defence and resort to a long-range shot through Christian Eriksen. No danger for Buffon, who gives his defence a rocket...

Man City 1-2 Basel (agg 5-2)

The Basel fans are giving it to the City supporters with a blast of "you only sing when you're winning".

City rarely lose here, that's for sure. At the moment they are heading for their first defeat in any competition at Etihad Stadium since Chelsea beat them in December 2016, which is Pep Guardiola's only home defeat as City manager.

But, contrary to what the Swiss supporters are saying, going behind has actually galvanised the home fans, who are urging their side forward in search of an equaliser.

They have got less than 10 minutes to find one.

Spurs hammer it down through Son, who crosses from the left channel of the area towards the lurking Harry Kane.

Across comes Giorgio Chiellini. Right time, right place. High fives and fist bumps all around in the Juve defence.

Munders: One or two individuals have commented on the so called gulf between the EPL and Serie A. Absolute ignorance, arrogance and, rightfully, put in their place.

John Nixon: This is certainly not a shock, but it is a disappointing way to go out because for much of the game spurs were the better side.

    Loser92: Disaster!

An air of deflation around Wembley now. Apart from the Juventus fans who can be heard loud and clear in the corner.

Spurs are lacking confidence and ideas, a cross into the box is headed clear by Giorgio Chiellini.

Zak: This is why experience counts at this stage of the Champions League. It is a composed finish from Paulo Dybala.

Kris Jefferson: Proof that no matter how well you play or how much you dominate a game, if you do not kill off the match, you always leave yourself open to having a 5 min spell where you lose control.
