Gonzalo Higuain has barely had a kick tonight. That sums up Juventus's struggles. The Argentina striker has managed just 15 touches - that;s the fewest on the pitch and 11 less than Hugo Lloris.

Meanwhile, Miralem Pjanic floats a Juve corner over everyone in the Spurs box. Cue huge jeers from the Spurs fans.

As a Spurs fan I'm in love with the likes of Kane, Son and Eriksen for the goals and flair. Spare a thought though for Dembele, absolute class, has to be the best all round central midfielder in the Premier League. Practically invincible when on the ball. Best thing Villas Boas did was buy him!

Dele Alli has already got the party tricks out, backheeling a mid-air ball to bamboozle the Juve defence. Medhi Benatia doesn't like that... he hacks down Alli a few seconds later and goes into the book for his troubles. Benatia will miss the first leg of the quarter-final should Juve somehow get there...

You'd expect Juventus to come out really hard in these first 15 minutes, but first impressions suggest it's Spurs doing the attacking.

  5. KICK-OFFpublished at 20:51 Greenwich Mean Time 7 March 2018

Man City 1-1 Basel (agg 5-1)

We're going again in Manchester too... and City almost score straight away.

Basel keeper Tomas Vaclik has a rush of blood, legging it out of his area, only to boot a loose ball against Gabriel Jesus's shin. Fortunately for the keeper the ball loops over his head and well wide.

Referee Szymon Marciniak is still getting earache from the Juve players as they amble back from the changing rooms.

    Wonder what that's about? Hmmmm.

We're rolling again. Please please please can we have an equally-exciting 45 minutes?!

A team scraping top 4 in England are battering the undisputed best team in Italy, shows the gulf in class between the Premier League and the rest of Europe.

    Tottenham 1-0 Juventus (agg 3-2)

Barely a gnat between these two sides in terms of possession (50-50) and passes (246-243), but Spurs have showed much more intent with the ball than their Italian visitors.

The home side have pinged 12 shots goalwards, compared to just three from Juve.

And, as our graphic below shows, Spurs have had more touches in the Juve third than vice versa.

In fact, Juve have only had four touches in the Spurs box - one when Douglas Costa was crunched by Jan Vertonghen and three in the move that ended in Miralem Pjanic shooting wide.

  10. Creating a new historypublished at 20:45 Greenwich Mean Time 7 March 2018

Man City 1-1 FC Basel (agg 5-1)

    Simon Stone
BBC Sport at the Etihad Stadium

Pep Guardiola was dismissive in his press conference yesterday when asked whether his team could be compared to Barcelona.

He answered no on the basis Barca have been at the top for over a decade whereas Manchester City are only just starting their journey to the top.

Indeed, if they win tonight, it will be the first time they have won both legs of a Champions League knock-out round tie.

  11. The first half at Etihad in short... (ish)published at 20:45 Greenwich Mean Time 7 March 2018

    Man City 1-1 Basel

    Chris Bevan
    BBC Sport at Etihad Stadium

That first half at Etihad Stadium in short:

A LOT of possession and passes by City - 539, compared to 167 by Basel - and they have seen more than 76% of the ball.

Almost as much singing by the Swiss fans, including one effort to the tune of Sting’s ‘Englishman in New York’ (No idea who or what they were singing about but until then I thought Henrikh Mkhitaryan was the only player who fitted that chorus).

A first goal of 2018 for Gabriel Jesus - his first since 18 November to be totally accurate - on his first start this year too.

And another game where the first shot on target at City’s goal has beaten Claudio Bravo. He has done pretty well otherwise in fairness, and you would blame his defence for the goal - not him.

Ryan: City started well early in the first half but defensively we're a little slow to react. Zinchenko giving the ball away a little too much for my liking.

Rob Bown: I feel if City can get English teams in the draws, they'll win the Champions League. Nothing in England is that scary.

How are you feeling Spurs fans? Happy? Nervous? Blinded and bewildered by tension? I feel your pain.

There's also a good chance you might be ending Gianluigi Buffon's Champions League career. Like you care...

    Chris Sutton

Spurs have played better, they have been the stronger and the more potent team.

Juventus have to respond. They haven't done enough tonight and the better team is in front.

Ismail Mohammed: Not crushing anything but its clear to say Man City and Tottenham have won.

Ellis Nordhoff: Unbelievable start for Spurs, great to think that possibly 5 out of 8 of the quarter finalists could be English sides.

  16. 'Allegri has a decision to make'published at 20:36 Greenwich Mean Time 7 March 2018

    Tottenham 1-0 Juventus (agg 3-2)

    Chris Sutton

Massimiliano Allegri has a decision or two to make at half-time. Juventus have to offer a more attacking threat.

How are they going to do that? They're not going to do that sitting in as they are at the moment.

  17. HALF-TIMEpublished at 20:35 Greenwich Mean Time 7 March 2018

    Tottenham 1-0 Juventus (agg 3-2)

And at Wembley. Spurs, dare I say it, have one foot in the quarter-finals. Juventus must score at least twice to stand any chance of avoiding an early exit.

  18. HALF-TIMEpublished at 20:33 Greenwich Mean Time 7 March 2018

  19. Spurs get the perfect tonicpublished at 20:33 Greenwich Mean Time 7 March 2018

    Phil McNulty
BBC Sport chief football writer at Wembley

Wembley is resounding to the noise of elated Spurs fans. They got a huge slice of luck with the penalty that was not given but they have been by far the more dangerous side.

Perfect timing just before the interval and yet another sign of Son Heung-min's increasing influence on Spurs' season.

  20. INJURY TIMEpublished at 20:32 Greenwich Mean Time 7 March 2018

Two minutes for Tottenham to get through to the break. Another minute to go at the Etihad.
