Dan Burn nods behind Fabian Delph's fine ball into the box and it's another corner to Manchester City. It's worked short to Danilo, who plays a great pass behind the defence but it's just ahead of Sergio Aguero.

Possibly the best chance of the game - Man City's Fernandinho hits a close range effort way over the target.

Lovely move by Wigan as David Perkins turns his marker in the middle and finds Max Power. The midfielder sends a neat ball for Gavin Massey to chase and the forward has team-mates arriving in the box but his cross is poor as it sails over everyone's heads.

Lovely turn inside the area by Ilkay Gondogan as he is picked out by Danilo. Gundogan thumps an effort towards the far corner from a tight angle. Just over.

That’s a sitter. Fernandinho is so much better than that. The ball from Delph is good spot as there’s an overload at the back post. It picks out stones and the minute it falls to Fernandinho you expect the net to ripple because he’s technically gifted, just leans back and it flies over.

How did he miss that!?

Manchester City are starting to look like their familiar self as they buzz around the Wigan defence. A cross is sent in for John Stones, he heads down into the middle of the area for the unmarked Fernandinho but he somehow manages to lash well over.

Terrible shot.

Nick Powell was one of their creative sparks, good on the ball and looks like getting on the end on something when they break. It is a real shame he can't continue.

The corner comes in, Ilkay Gündogan flicks it on and the ball falls at Aymeric Laporte's feet but the defender can't get his shot off in time before Wigan sweep up.

The Fabian Delph, Leroy Sane and David Silva triple threat down the left flank is proving a popular route for Manchester City's effort.

Wigan right-back Nathan Byrne may well need a few power naps tomorrow...

Nick Powell does go back on the pitch but is clearly struggling. Wigan are going to be forced into an early change.

An early blow for Wigan here, Nick Powell is struggling. He gingerly walks towards the edge of the pitch but he looks like he wants to stay on.

Wigan have started strong and nearly went one up with this effort. I could almost hear 'Will Grigg's on fire' echo through the stadium...

There is actually quite a lot of space in that Manchester City defence when Wigan counter.

Gary Roberts looks to exploit that space but his control lets him down and the visitors clear.

I'd say the hosts are shading this. Fair play.

Wigan break quickly and neatly as they worry the Manchester City defence again. Nathan Byrne uses his pace to get the move going before Nick Powell and Will Grigg exchange pass before the former's shot was blocked.
