Wood starts on the far post and ends up on the edge of the six-yard box. He gets above everyone. That is why Sean Dyche has brought on the big forward. To cause havoc. Burnley have responded to Dyche's words at the break.

Zonal marking: A lesson in why it's rubbish, by Everton.

Johann Berg Gudmundsson clips in a corner, left footed, and Chris Wood heads it in from about three yards out. Jordan Pickford doesn't come for it, Ashley Williams does nothing to stop the Kiwi form heading in.

    A shower.

Of all the players you want it to fall to if you are an Everton fan, it is Gylfi Sigurdsson. He sort of side-foots it and it is always bending away from goal. You have to put your laces through that.

  5. CLOSE!published at 78 mins

    Burnley 1-1 Everton

    Yes! No!

Gylfi Sigurdsson's touch is brilliant to take him past Ben Mee and into the area, he then hits a left-footed shot which is past the covering bodies but crucially wide of the target!

    Burnley 1-1 Everton

Everton now building up a head of steam. Theo Walcott's cross is hacked away before Oumar Niasse scissor kicks over. Niasse then gets in behind and wins a corner. The away end is in voice - Everton have been much better than at Watford last week.

    Burnley 1-1 Everton

Everton have seen much more of the ball since Wayne Rooney dropped into their midfield. Controlling the play now, although Burnley look a threat every time they get it up to their front two. Ashley Barnes has been brilliant.

  10. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 69 mins

Unleash Niasse! Oumar is on for Cenk Tosun as Everton try and regain a foothold.

The difference in Burnley is incredible. It is exactly the same pass every time. Pass into Barnes, pass into Wood. Having those two focal points in attack is allowing Burnley to go down either side.

Matt Lowton, or Cafu? The right-back sends another dreamy through ball from right back to carve open Everton and Jordan Pickford saves well from Ashley Barnes this time. Barnes then heads on for Chris Wood, whose shot is saved.

I would absolutely hate to play against Barnes. And that's very much intended as a compliment.

Everton stem the Burnley tide for a moment and create their own attack, goalscorer Cenk Tosun can only flick it wide though.

Ashley Barnes has scored in consecutive Premier League games for the first time since December 2014. Abramovich on the phone?

Wayne Rooney is playing in the hole now with Gylfi Sigurdsson moving further back. He remains a £40m gap filler at Everton strangely. A club record utility man.

  15. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 60 mins

    Burnley 1-1 Everton

Wayne Rooney is on for Everton, and he immediately fouls Aaron Lennon in full flight, advantage is played though and Johann Berg Gudmundsson sees his cross/shot skim through the area!

    Ashley Barnes

Jordan Pickford has been brilliant today but I wonder if he will look back at this goal and think he should have come off his line.

Credit to the attackers though, James Tarkowski does well tight to the touchline to find Matt Lowton, and he threads a fine ball in behind the Everton defence. There's a lot of space for Ashley Barnes though, Pickford stays in his goal and Barnes takes his time before firing home.

    Burnley 0-1 Everton

Wayne Rooney is out to warm up. I know he caught up with Gazza at Everton's training ground yesterday. Gazza played for both of these clubs of course. Wonder if he's watching.

Chance! Ashley Williams ambles forwards for a free-kick and nods it wide of the target.

Burnley on top since half time. Can they find a way past Jordan Pickford?

I know exactly what Sean Dyche has said at half time to the Burnley players: 'get the ball to Wood and Barnes as quickly as possible and let's make Pickford make saves'.
