That is a different mindset now for the Everton centre-halves. They have Barnes and now Wood to deal with. Wood will put himself about.

  3. GREAT SAVE!published at 48 mins

    Burnley 0-1 Everton

Immediate impact from Chris Wood. First he hustles Michael Keane into conceding a corner and then from the corner he half wins a header which causes chaos.

Jordan Pickford then makes an excellent save to deny Aaron Lennon. Fine start to the half!

  8. Time running out for Pardew?published at 13:24 Greenwich Mean Time 3 March 2018

Watford v West Brom (15:00 GMT)

It's amazing what a difference a few weeks can make.

Five weeks ago Alan Pardew was smiling after masterminding Liverpool's FA Cup exit at Anfield.

By the end of the weekend, the West Brom boss could be out of a job.

The former West Ham manager, who has only been in the role since the end of November, says he will not walk away from the job.

But his problems are piling up including the leaking of details of arguments in the West Brom dressing room.

  9. Spurs have momentumpublished at 13:22 Greenwich Mean Time 3 March 2018

    Tottenham v Huddersfield (15:00 GMT)

    Steve Bower
Match of the Day commentator at Wembley

Huddersfield's back-to-back victories have been huge and could yet be pivotal, but they will need all of that form and character to get a result against Spurs.

No team have picked up more points than Mauricio Pochettino's team since the turn of the year and they extended their unbeaten run in the week to 16 matches in all competitions.

Tottenham have momentum at the right time. The Wembley chatter has stopped, as you have to go back to August for Spurs' last home league defeat.

The national stadium will bring back memories of how Huddersfield arrived in the Premier League but this game won't define their hopes of staying there.

Seamus Coleman has been good. But was he lucky not to get at least booked in that first half?

The difference is Seamus Coleman. An extra attacker going forward. Makes space for Walcott. And can defend his flank on his own. Everton look so much better with him.

  12. 'There's a bigger problem at West Brom'published at 13:20 Greenwich Mean Time 3 March 2018

Watford v West Brom (15:00 GMT)

We’ve had the incident in Barcelona and now this dressing room leak about a row.

It's easy to say Alan Pardew has got no control. What they did with a taxi doesn't get you three points and it doesn't lose you three points.

As for the row, it’s a good thing it has happened. They are right to have it out. They are frustrated at their function in the team.

There is a lack of discipline obviously but there is a bigger problem at the club.

It's the right result come half-time. Everton have played good football and look really reliable.

I've been really impressed by Tosun, but it's only 1-0 at the moment. Burnley have every chance of getting back in this but they have to find a way to get the ball in the box.

Gee Em: move Cenk out of the dreamteam and cue the scoring starts... Everton should thank me. I expect at least some credit from the big man at the end of the game.

    Burnley 0-1 Everton

Burnley trail but have played well. Loads of chances for both sides. Very decent game. High on incident if not necessarily quality.

Hamza Darby: Jordan Pickford & Nick Pope have by far been England's best goalkeepers this season. Should be #1 & #2 in the summer.

Every time Burnley try to go down the outside, Everton double up. They seem to be really organised.

Burnley are well in this game though, they've got every chance of nicking a goal. But Everton have been the better side and deserve their lead.

Does that work James? Not for me...

This has been a cult hit so far. Who would have thought we would have 15 efforts on goal before half time?
