Eddie Howe and his assistant Jason Tindall were both very calm in the Bournemouth technical area as Junior Stanislas put the home side ahead, immediately indicating to their players to keep their focus after the early goal.

    Cool as you like.

Let's be clear, with all Mark Schwarzer's talk of Tottenham bowing out of the Champions League this week, Bournemouth have also been eliminated from a cup competition within the last few days.

They were beaten in the semi-final of the Hampshire Senior Cup by Havant & Waterlooville, managed by ex-Cherries boss Lee Bradbury...

Harry Kane does link up with Dele Alli on the corner of the penalty area but he can't quite get a shot away under heavy pressure. Spurs are not in control in midfield though at all, as the usually-excellent Mousa Dembele gives away a clumsy foul.

After seeing Tottenham get knocked out of the Champions League, maybe Bournemouth see this as a good chance to have a go at them. They have, and you can tell that by listening to the crowd.

Bournemouth have often been slow starters in 2018 - there were a few boos here at half-time after a very sluggish first period against Newcastle a fortnight ago - but that early chance really woke the home fans up, and the Stanislas goal has them in raptures.

A long, long way to go...

That's Junior Stanislas's fourth goal of the season. He is usually pretty reliable when he gets in those situations. Tottenham have been rattled, they look a mess at the moment as Jan Vertonghen has to scramble a ball clear for a corner.

After hitting the bar it looked like only one team would score, so they've deserved it. It was a good finish into the far corner with Lloris stranded. Sanchez dived across Lloris and it made it difficult for him to even see it.

    Junior Stanislas

Junior Stanislas quickly erases memories of that painful miss with a really crisp finish! Adam Smith's cross from the right runs through the area, Davinson Sanchez doesn't get a head away, and Stanislas takes a touch before arrowing low and hard across goal and in. A fine finish indeed.

It's incredible how they did not score. The through pass was a bit too far in front of Lys Mousset and Davinson Sanchez did well to slow him down. Then Lloris came out to put pressure on Stanislas. It was only Sanchez against two Bournemouth players.

How have they not scored!? One pass splits the Spurs defence, well, there was no defence, and Lys Mousset and Junior Stanislas run in on goal from the halfway line.

They're both clean through on Hugo Lloris but somehow they mess it up. Mousset squares it to Stanislas, who clips a shot over Lloris but against the frame of the goal.

    Incredible miss.

After Jan Vertonghen told press he would like the Tottenham squad to stay together:

It does add to the sense of accomplishment, if it's with a group of players who are close and have come through the ups and downs together. However, there comes a time when you have to deliver and the players start thinking it's now or never. Otherwise your head will be turned. But the way Tottenham are playing football is fantastic and Pochettino has been a breath of fresh air at the club.

    Arsenal 3-0 Watford

    Arsenal

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger, speaking to BBC Sport: "It was a difficult game like you get in the Premier League. But overall the spirit and desire was good.

"The spirit kept us out of trouble. We dealt well with set pieces which is why they could not come back.

"At 2-0 they had a penalty and if they come back to 2-1 it is a fact we have a bit of fatigue and we could have been in trouble but we took advantage of that and you have to give credit to the players, they stuck together and of course a great penalty save."

On Petr Cech reaching the landmark of 200 Premier League clean sheets and being a great servant to the club: "To the club and football in general. the records are interesting because they show a remarkable desire to stay at your best and as well a remarkable intelligence."

On team selection: "I selected my team to have the chance to win the game today and also rest some players I did not want to get injured because we are not so far to the end of the season so any injuries you lose them for the rest of the season."
