    Liverpool 1-0 Man City

This tie was always going to deliver goals and we have an opener inside 15 minutes. It won't be the last, you wouldn't have thought.

Liverpool put the pressure on and get to Ederson, who has to clear it out of play. The Kop love that.

  3. 'You can't leave Salah alone'published at 20:01 British Summer Time 4 April 2018

    Liverpool 1-0 Man City

    Robbie Savage
Ex-Leicester City & Wales midfielder on BBC Radio 5 live

What a start for Liverpool. That man again. Mo Salah. Salah was left on his own on the half way line. Thought he was a fraction offside. Firmino shoots, the rebound gets stuck under Kyle Walker's feet and Salah is there to score.

It was naive from City. You can't leave a man with that many goals in the Premier League alone on the half way line.

  4. CLOSE!published at 20:00 British Summer Time 4 April 2018

    Liverpool 1-0 Man City

Manchester City and their manager are entirely confident in their own style of play but you can't leave Mo Salah one on one, surely?Anyway, here come the blue arrows on their own break as Leroy Sane drives through the middle, he has Kevin de Bruyne on his shoulder but shoots from the edge of the area and it's just wide!

  5. goal

GOAL - Liverpool 1-0 Man Citypublished at 19:57 British Summer Time 4 April 2018

    Mo Salah (12 mins)

    Who else?!

Manchester City have started on top but Liverpool show what they can do on the counter. They hit Mo Salah down the line - is he onside? - he finds Roberto Firmino, who comes inside and shoots, it's saved, Kyle Walker doesn't clear it and it falls for Salah who takes a touch and leathers it home!

That's his 38th goal of the season. Incredible.

He was maybe a few inches offside...

  6. PENALTY APPEALpublished at 19:56 British Summer Time 4 April 2018

    Barcelona 0-0 Roma

Roma striker Edin Dzeko wants a penalty as he goes down theatrically from a Nelson Semedo push. You'd think Semedo was a full oil barrel rolling into him the way Dzeko seemed to go down there.

The Bosnia international avoids a yellow card for diving.

Now at the other end, Lionel Messi stings the palms of Alisson Becker from nearly 30 yards.

    Liverpool 0-0 Man City

Good spell of patient play from Liverpool now as they work the ball out to Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain on the right, he gets the better of Aymeric Laporte and gets a cross in but it's well dealt with. That's got the crowd up.

  8. Postpublished at 19:53 British Summer Time 4 April 2018

    Liverpool 0-0 Man City

I hear you Andy. Manchester City have had 73% of possession, they are bossing this but Liverpool know what they are doing. They are compact and are not giving up much at the moment.

  9. DISALLOWED GOALpublished at 19:53 British Summer Time 4 April 2018

    Barcelona 0-0 Roma

Barcelona striker Luis Suarez hasn't scored a Champions League goal in over a year. He slams one into the net here, but he's correctly flagged offside from Andres Iniesta's pass.

He's scored 22 goals in 26 La Liga games - but zero in eight in Europe.

    Robbie Savage

Big night for Trent Alexander-Arnold. We saw at old Trafford that Marcus Rashford got a couple of goals against him.

He's up against Leroy Sane tonight, it's going to be a big test for the youngster.

Great run from Leroy Sane! He has three defenders in between him and the goal and he slaloms through them all, before hitting a low shot into the side-netting. Deflected. Corner. Cleared.

Electric pace from Kyle Walker as he flies down the right flank but Liverpool double up on him and force him back towards his own half. The quick switch of play finds Leroy Sane and he too is funnelled inside. City starting to boss the play, Kevin de Bruyne very deep and central alongside Fernandinho.

    Liverpool 0-0 Man City

Pep Guardiola applauds Aymeric Laporte as he snaps into a tackle on halfway, high up on the left-hand side. There's a lot of space in behind him.

  15. Postpublished at 19:48 British Summer Time 4 April 2018

    Liverpool 0-0 Man City

Liverpool make a typically frantic opening, with Vincent Kompany having to stretch to clear away under pressure. Kevin de Bruyne then drives City forward on the counter but it comes to nothing. Breathless stuff.

Allan: There''s just something about Liverpool and European nights. Salah to score MO goals tonight?

Jason: This one embodies the romance of the Champions League: the grafters versus the artisans. Intriguing. And I'm an Arsenal fan!

Dan: I am excited and terrified. Either team could race into a heavy lead here. I hope it's Liverpool, but City have more than enough strength to ruin their evening.
