Here come the players as Anfield continue YNWA for many a capella verses. Top class atmosphere for a top class match.

Manchester City have conquered England this season, now it's time to do the same in Europe.

Or will it be the men in red who come out on top?

5 live goes silent for 'You'll Never Walk Alone'. The Manchester City fans do their best to be heard over it but it's a numbers game.

Even if you have no time for LIverpool you'd have to surely agree that they are good at that before a big game...

An early goal or two to come?

Liverpool have to go all out. This is their night, their opportunity. Manchester City not selecting Raheem Sterling is surprising, likely as close as Pep Guardiola gets to parking the bus.

I think the atmosphere will play an interesting role. I remember a few seasons ago when Liverpool played Borussia Dortmund in the Europa League.

At one point they needed to score three goals and in front of our very eyes, Dortmund, seasoned campaigners in Europe, collapsed amongst a red hot atmosphere at Anfield. I don’t think some of their players could handle it.

It seems crazy to say as their players had vast European experience, as do many members of this Manchester City team.

Under the red smoke and flares, we shouldn’t underestimate it. And it will be interesting to see which City players not only survive, but thrive in this atmosphere.

The club condemns in the strongest possible terms the scenes which preceded our Champions League quarter-final, which resulted in damage being inflicted on the Manchester City team bus during their arrival at Anfield.

We apologise unreservedly to Pep Guardiola, his players, staff and officials caught up in the incident.

The behaviour of a number of individuals was completely unacceptable and the club will cooperate fully with the authorities to identify those responsible.

The priority now is to establish the facts and offer Manchester City whatever support is necessary.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp: "Absolutely, I really don't understand it. We tried everything to prevent a situation like that. When we came through it was obviously very positive. For Liverpool FC I have to say sorry."

Man City boss Pep Guardiola: "Thank you to Jurgen for his apology. We didn't expect that, I didn't expect that. I know that is not Liverpool, the history of the club is much bigger than this four or five or 10 guys.

    "Hopefully it doesn't happen again."

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp speaking to BBC Radio 5 live

This is how live football should be with the atmosphere tonight, it is all excitement and joy, with everyone looking forward it.

It will be nice to enjoy this before the game but we need to deliver on the pitch. I can only promise the team will try everything today.

Manchester City are deserving champions and they have done it with a crazy consistency.

They have to say it is very important to win the league against United, but it is one little thing. Fans won't complain if they become champions a week later, so it is easier for them to focus on these two games.

I respect Pep Guardiola a lot. I think he is the best manager in the world. We have played a few times, that's it. I think he's a fantastic football manager and a nice guy.

The only way this game will be 0-0 is if it is postponed, there will be goals. There is so much attacking flair from both sides. It is disappointing to see Sergio Aguero out but Gabriel Jesus leads the line well.

What a game in prospect, hopefully like the two games in the league we have already seen this season. Hopefully it lives up to expectations.
