Tremendous strike from Kevin de Bruyne, trying to blast it into that far corner. Hugo Lloris was at full stretch but was nowhere near it. It would be a big statement if they could come here tonight and win.

David Silva is being given far too much space by Tottenham. He is allowed to dribble across the top of the box, look up, take his time and slip it to Kevin de Bruyne.

The Belgian isn't closed down quick enough either and he unleashes a ferocious strike but it was always going wide of Hugo Lloris' right post.

Raheem Sterling spots a gap in the Spurs defence and runs straight towards it. Tottenham recover just in time to put him under pressure and his strike is way over the bar.

Eric Dier finds Dele Alli in space on the edge of the box but Fabian Delph does well to get across and block his strike.

What a start from Manchester City. Question marks over whether they would be feeling sorry for themselves but they've really taken it to Spurs and been on the front foot from the first whistle.

David Silva is heavily involved in these early stages. He gets away down the left this time but his cut-back is intercepted just in time.

Finlay: A bit worried that Spurs have caught City at the end of their rough patch - this is a tough one for both teams.

Josh: I think Spurs will edge it. 14 games unbeaten will give much-needed motivation for the spurs squad. City's 4 game losing streak won't help them as well.

David Silva and Raheem Sterling are enjoying themselves down this right-hand side so far. Spurs haven't really got going yet but City are already in the groove.

Brilliant work between Silva and Sterling. It's clipped across and Sane from 12 yards out shows excellent technique but it slams against the post. Sane cut across it and the movement on the ball sent it spinning onto the post. Hugo Lloris was not getting anywhere near that.

He's not offside and he lifts a lovely ball into the box where Leroy Sane is waiting, unmarked. The German volleys it with perfection - smashing it against the post. Kyle Walker received quite a few boos from the home crowd then. He was magnificent for Tottenham before making the move to Man City so I'm not quite sure what that's all about...

Kyle Walker's first involvement isn't a good one. He sprays a pass across field but it's wayward and it puts Leroy Sane under pressure as Erik Lamela wins the ball for the hosts.

Spurs will pile the pressure onto Man City in the early stages. They will want to find out if City are feeling sorry for themselves. But that's the way that Spurs have played all season and they are on an incredible run. Can City cope with the intense start?

I think we'll find out a lot about them in this game.

I don't think we should read too much into Nicolas Otamendi's exclusion. He's been a huge improvement on last season, despite being at fault the other night. They have competition for places, they've just spent lots of money on Laporte, and that will be what Pep wants for his team.

People will be questioning if City have a weakness and vulnerability at the back. It's the first time they've been under a bit of pressure and they'll want a strong end to this season.
