The response from Spurs since they lost 4-1 at Man City in December has been really good. I'm a huge fan of Spurs, how they've played and quite simply they are a really enjoyable team to watch. Of course they want to win a trophy but I think that will happen. There are good times ahead for them - as long as they keep the squad together in the summer.

    Mark Lawrenson
    BBC football expert

I think City would take a draw after the week they have had. That will delay the title party a little longer, but they are still going to win the league - it is just a matter of time.

    Prediction: 1-1

    Jermaine Jenas

This match is a really tough one for City. I don't see them winning. Spurs are in such good form that I only see them adding to what has been a shocking couple of weeks for City.

  4. 'Can Spurs extend miserable run?'published at 19:38 British Summer Time 14 April 2018

Tottenham v Man City (19:45 BST)

    Steve Wilson
    Match of the Day commentator

Let's get this straight, Manchester City have been fantastic this season - unbelievable. They deserve all the accolades that should come their way for playing sensational football which has left some very good teams trailing miles behind.

But - and there is very definitely a 'but' - to win only two trophies barely reflects the majesty of the football they have played.

City - almost unplayable for much of the campaign - have now lost half of their last 10 games. If they lose at Wembley it will be their longest run of defeats in 12 seasons.

So are Spurs good enough to extend that miserable run? They'll be very confident that they are.

Get used to Saturday night football in the Premier League. It's going to be a regular fixture from the start of the 2019-20 season.

The DJ at Wembley is spinning some quite funky tunes to get everyone in the mood.

The teams are in. Once again, Toby Alderweireld hasn't made the squad. Quite surprising considering Danny Rose is injured with a calf strain.

Pochettino was asked if he is going to be sold in the summer on Friday.

"I think we make a drama sometimes for small things," he said. "After 14 games unbeaten there’s no point talking about a player that did not play and was injured for a long time."

Alderweireld's future is not certain at Spurs. The defender has a clause in his contract which means he can leave for £25m in 2019.

It will be interesting to see the reception Kyle Walker gets. He joined Spurs in 2009 before leaving for £50 million in the summer.

  8. 'City's travails exaggerated'published at 19:34 British Summer Time 14 April 2018

Tottenham v Man City (19:45 BST)

    Chris Sutton
Ex-Chelsea striker on BBC Radio 5 live

I think there’s been an over-reaction to Man City’s week. They’ve lost three games of football. They’ve not played that badly and they’ve been beaten by two really good teams. Man City have had a superb season, the best team in the Premier League by a distance and they will win the league.

I do think Spurs will come out and attack City tonight and that could be really interesting, especially ahead of next season. Will sides stop showing them quite so much respect now?

  9. Head-to-headpublished at 19:32 British Summer Time 14 April 2018

Tottenham v Man City (19:45 BST)

Manchester City have lost their last two games away to Tottenham, conceding six goals and scoring just once, although both of those matches were at White Hart Lane rather than Wembley.

City beat Spurs 4-1 in December but that is their only win in their last five league games against them (D1, L3).

  10. 'Best time to play City'published at 19:31 British Summer Time 14 April 2018

Tottenham v Man City (19:45 BST)

    Sam Byram
West Ham defender on BBC Radio 5 live

There was a time when you looked at City and they were steamrolling teams, going into every game with confidence and scoring lots of goals. It is probably the best time to go up against Man City.

  11. 'We need to be consistent'published at 19:30 British Summer Time 14 April 2018

Tottenham v Man City (19:45 BST)

Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino: "It is not about one result that we are going to show that we are ready or not ready [to challenge for the title].

"We have already shown we are ready to compete. We need to be consistent during the whole season and be the best team like Manchester City are doing.

"We need to show ourselves that we can compete."

  13. Giroud inspires Chelsea comebackpublished at 19:27 British Summer Time 14 April 2018

    FT: Southampton 2-3 Chelsea

In case you missed it earlier, there was some dramatic action in Chelsea's early kick-off.

Olivier Giroud came on as a substitute and scored twice as Chelsea came from 2-0 down to win at Southampton.

It keeps alive their faint hopes of a top-four finish as the Blues moved within seven points of fourth-placed Tottenham.

  18. When can City win the title?published at 19:13 British Summer Time 14 April 2018

Tottenham v Man City (19:45 BST)

Despite having the chance to win the title against Manchester United last weekend, Manchester City might still have to wait another week before they are crowned champions.

But they could win the Premier League title if they beat Tottenham today and Manchester United then lose to West Brom tomorrow.

A City win and a United draw is probably enough too because of goal difference, but it doesn’t quite get them over the line.

A United defeat against Bournemouth on Wednesday (assuming they beat West Brom) and a Man City win today would also effectively see them win the title on goal difference.

If not, City just need six points from their last six games, meaning they could win the title at the Etihad next Sunday if they beat Tottenham and then win against Swansea.

They already clinched Champions League qualification on 12 March.

  20. Guardiola warns of complacencypublished at 19:10 British Summer Time 14 April 2018

Tottenham v Man City (19:45 BST)

Despite a 13-point lead over second-placed Manchester United with six games left, Pep Guardiola insists Man City are still vulnerable and need to "focus" because they could still miss out on winning the title.

There are 18 points to play for but Guardiola said 'in football anything can happen.'

"Since November and December we have already been champions, when I saw pundits and people say: 'Impossible for City to drop points', said Guardiola.

"My feeling is now that United will win a lot of points because they are in a good shape and have top players. They are able to win their games - all six.

"It is in our hands. That is a good advantage. But in one week we have lost three games. That has happened. We have to try to focus on our games."
