  1. KICK-OFFpublished at 14:32 British Summer Time 15 April 2018

    Newcastle 1-1 Arsenal

    We're back under way.

For some unknown reason they've continued to water the pitch during the break, even though it's super greasy.

  2. United out to delay the inevitablepublished at 14:29 British Summer Time 15 April 2018

It’s very hard to make a convincing case for this to be unmissable and I tend to bare towards realism. I expect Manchester United to win, but that is a mere delay to the crowning of Manchester City as Premier League champions.

Even if West Brom were to win I can’t see them avoiding relegation. It would be only their fourth win in the League this season. They have been gonners for a while.

What will interest me is if Jose Mourinho allows his team the sort of freedom he clearly authorised at the Etihad last weekend.

Ps. The pre-match roast potatoes in the press room were very nice!

Paul Harris: Yet again Arsenal switch off defensively. Been happening for years and sadly Wenger seems unable to address it.

Vincent Wood: Neither of these teams look very comfortable dealing with the other’s counter-attack. Essentially it is a very entertaining game of pinball so far.

  4. 'Shelvey probably not in Southgate's plans'published at 14:23 British Summer Time 15 April 2018

    Newcastle 1-1 Arsenal

    Michael O'Neill
Northern Ireland manager on BBC Radio 5 live

I think Shelvey needs more to his game. England have been playing a shorter passing game and I'm not sure he fits in

Shelvey is ideal for how Newcastle play the game but Gareth Southgate probably has players that are ahead of him

  5. Praise for Shelveypublished at 14:22 British Summer Time 15 April 2018

    Newcastle 1-1 Arsenal

There are loads of you commenting on what a good game Jonjo Shelvey is having today.

In the first 20 minutes especially, he was spraying the ball around very well.

The Newcastle midfielder has made 23 passes in total - double the amount of any of his team-mates.

It's been a very good game with two contrasting styles. Arsenal are in control when they are in possession.

But Newcastle do look well organised and look like threat when they go back to front early.

  7. HALF-TIMEpublished at 14:17 British Summer Time 15 April 2018

Oh, Joe Willock. You won't be sticking that on your Arsenal show-reel.

Mo Diame gives the ball away after another slip on the greasy pitch. It's picked up by Lacazette who makes a brilliant dart forward.

He finds young Willock on the left but the teenager can't decide which foot to use and he misses the chance to strike.

Ray O'Brien: Slow, weak, panicky, easily exposed, painful to watch. Who am I describing? Literally any of the Arsenal back four. Take your pick.

Jo Palmer: @AyozePG single handedly keeping Newcastle in the Premier League!

Gavin Richmond: Hey Gareth Southgate, that’s what Shelvey can give you in Russia. Defense splitting delivery. Get him on the plane

Lots of love for Jonjo today, are you watching Gareth?

    Another chance for Calum Chambers.

The Arsenal defender leaps like a salmon to try and head home from a corner but the ball loops up and over.

Now Petr Cech is forced into a low save from Matt Ritchie, with Dwight Gayle also lurking with intent.

    Newcastle 1-1 Arsenal

    Michael O'Neill

It's almost identical to the first goal but Chambers just can't make contact.

He really should be scoring there.

  13. CLOSE!published at 38 mins

    Newcastle 1-1 Arsenal

Arsenal earn a free-kick about 35 yards out.

Aubameyang's effort is blocked by the wall, Granit Xhaka sends it back in, Shkodran Mustafi heads across goal and Calum Chambers sticks it wide.

Jerry Elumeze: Cech used to be one of the best goalkeepers in the world. Now he gets beaten on his side of the post and palms out shots to opposing strikers to score

Matt Jones: Mr Southgate, can you please take Shelvey to Russia? From a captivated neutral (Leeds fan)

James Roberts: Very poor from Cech. Looked like he was afraid of colliding with the post. Ghost of Stephen Hunt!

  16. Postpublished at 35 mins

    Newcastle 1-1 Arsenal

Teenager Joe Willock decides to get in on the action on his Premier League debut and slides in on Perez, to give Newcastle a free-kick from just inside the Arsenal half.

They can't do much with it, though.

  17. Postpublished at 33 mins

Newcastle goalscorer Perez makes a great weaving run on the left and wiggles round Calum Chambers in style.

Luckily for Chambers, there were some blue shirts there to clear the danger.

  18. 'Wenger will be furious with Mustafi'published at 14:02 British Summer Time 15 April 2018

    Newcastle 1-1 Arsenal

    Michael O'Neill
Northern Ireland manager on BBC Radio 5 live

What a goal. Mustafi again allows Gayle to run and then it's a great cross from Yedlin and Perez finishes with his right foot.

Arsene Wenger will be furious with Mustafi. Newcastle have been so positive, heads didn't drop when they went behind.

It is poor defensively from Arsenal.

GOAL - Newcastle 1-1 Arsenalpublished at 14:00 British Summer Time 15 April 2018

    Ayoze Perez (29 mins)

    Lovely goal!

Ayoze Perez makes it three in a row for Newcastle as he side-foots home from DeAndre Yedlin's centre.

A really nice finish from the Spanish striker.

    Newcastle 0-1 Arsenal

    Michael O'Neill
Northern Ireland manager on BBC Radio 5 live

That was great play by Arsenal with Xhaka switching the play nicely.

It was a good cross from Chambers but unfortunately no-one was there to finish it off.
