Paul: We've got one of those 'eccentric' refs tonight. Nothing in that from Mane - he slipped!

Ash: A foul is a foul but does Otamendi need to roll around like he’s taken stunt classes?

  6. YELLOW CARDpublished at 20:01 British Summer Time 10 April 2018

Man City 1-0 Liverpool 1-3 agg

Tempers already simmering as Sadio Mane catches Nicolás Otamendi and Manchester City goalkeeper Ederson is straight out of his area to give the referee his views on the foul. Mane is booked but both sets of players have to be careful. A sending off could be decisive either way in this tie.

  7. 'De Bruyne needs to calm down'published at 19:58 British Summer Time 10 April 2018

Man City 1-0 Liverpool 1-3 agg

    Chris Waddle

He's got a lot of energy tonight Kevin de Bruyne.

However he just needs to calm down, because he has so much quality but he is rushing things at the moment.

  8. Postpublished at 19:58 British Summer Time 10 April 2018

Man City 1-0 Liverpool 1-3 agg

Just over 10 minutes in and Manchester City haven't really threatened to add to that early goal. Kevin de Bruyne had half a chance but rushed his shot and lashed well over. The hosts looking perhaps a bit too keen to get the deficit down to one sooner rather than later.

  9. City fans matching Anfield atmospherepublished at 19:56 British Summer Time 10 April 2018

Man City 1-0 Liverpool 1-3 agg

    Chris Bevan
    BBC Sport at Etihad Stadium

The Anfield atmosphere made a difference in the first leg last week and City fans are certainly doing their bit to try to create that sort of intensity at Etihad Stadium, and rattle the Reds.

They have not stopped singing since the game started and are on their feet roaring their side forward whenever they get the ball. Whenever Liverpool get the ball, or Loris Karius dawdles over a goal-kick, the jeers and whistles are deafening.

Paul: Clear foul on Van Dijk. Sigh...here we go.

Tom: For me Karius' poor distribution put Van Dijk under lots of pressure there which lead to the goal.

Liverpool finally get their foot on the ball and win a corner as Nicolás Otamendi puts behind from a Liverpool throw. It's played short and worked to Trent Alexander-Arnold, who sends in a decent cross but it just evades the lurking Liverpool players.

Exactly how Manchester City wanted it. Sloppy from Virgil van Dijk and Liverpool cut wide open.

Fair to say that has got the home crowd going.

    Perfect start for Manchester City!

Virgil van Dijk is looking for a foul and gives the ball away as he hesitates, prompting City to break forward through Raheem Sterling. With Van Dijk out of position there's loads of space in the Liverpool defence and Sterling squares for Gabriel Jesus to finish.

Just the start Pep Guardiola was after. We've got a game on here!

Early opportunity for Manchester City as they win a free kick over on the right. Kevin de Bruyne swings it in, decent delivery, but Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain hooks the ball away.

The hosts starting as they mean to go on.

  20. 'Playing Salah a risk'published at 19:46 British Summer Time 10 April 2018

Man City 0-0 Liverpool 0-3 agg

    Stephen Warnock
Ex-Liverpool defender on BBC Radio 5 Live

If there was a risk to Mohamed Salah I think he would be on the bench. And save him if they need a goal.

If he is playing for the sake of it, there is a chance you can lose him for the rest of the season.

If Liverpool score I'll bet he comes of straight away.
