Ibrahim: Leroy Sane is everywhere. What a great attacking player!

Isaac: The 6-cylinder Leroy Sane is firing on only two, but Trent A-Arnold is having a real nightmare. a night to forget

There's six Liverpool players in the Manchester City half - the most I've seen all game as the visitors try to build an attack but they back out when nothing is on and play the ball backwards.

Manchester City appear to be looking to Leroy Sane to make something happen. He's the focus of every ball forward as Pep Guardiola watches on from his seat in the stands. He loves kicking every ball on the touchline and is looking very frustrated at not being able to move where he is, I wouldn't fancy being the person sat in the seat in front of him.

Willie: I think Liverpool will score in the second half. So forget about any sort of comeback.

Steve: Liverpool need to do what they do best, best way to defend is attack. We can't park the bus like other teams do.

Kevin de Bruyne effortlessly clips the ball over the Liverpool defence for Leroy Sane but Loris Karius is alert to the danger and plucks the ball out of the air.

No change in personnel or shape for Liverpool, not sure I can get behind the wisdom of playing exactly the same as they did in the first half. They were under relentless pressure.

If Liverpool carry on the way they are then they will be in trouble, The need to be composed on the ball and get the front three involved.

I also worry about Trent Alexander-Arnold, on a yellow card and Leroy Sane looks up for it.

Man City 1-0 Liverpool 1-3 agg

    Chris Bevan
    BBC Sport at Etihad Stadium

The City players, fans and even the ball-boys have been relentless so far, and doing their best to keep the game playing at a frenetic pace.

The home supporters are incredulous that there was no time added on at the end of the first half, especially given how long Liverpool goalkeeper Loris Karius was taking over goal-kicks in an attempt to take the sting out of things... and that referee Antonio Mateu Lahoz seemed to be signalling he had stopped his watch because of it.

Jeff: Liverpool got to change something can't see them surviving a second half onslaught only a matter of time till City score again

Richard: Liverpool have done well to ride that onslaught by Man City in that first half whilst only conceding once. Surely City can't ramp it up any more gears in the second?

  13. Man City need more cutting edgepublished at 20:40 British Summer Time 10 April 2018

    Phil McNulty
BBC Sport chief football writer at Etihad Stadium

For all the brilliance of their approach play and their sheer intensity, Manchester City have actually lacked a little precision in the key areas.

They will also feel they have not had any luck with decisions in this tie after Leroy Sane's goal was questionably ruled out for offside.

Time for everyone to take a breather.

Man City 1-0 Liverpool 1-3 agg

    Stephen Warnock
Ex-Liverpool defender on BBC Radio 5 Live

They haven't been load of clear cut chances, but pressure is building on Liverpool and they are finding it difficult to get out.

The more pressure City put on, their concentration has to be so high. And if this keeps happening you fatigue and that's when it becomes difficult later on.

Looks like Pep Guardiola will spend the second half in the stands after he let his feelings know about the decision to disallow Leroy Sane's goal.

It's not hard to see why he is so livid. Replays show Loris Karius' clearance did come off James Milner last before Sane slotted in.

  16. 'City's final ball lacking'published at 20:35 British Summer Time 10 April 2018

Man City 1-0 Liverpool 1-3 agg

    Chris Waddle
Ex-England winger on BBC Radio 5 live

Some of the build-up play from City has been great, but when they go to cross it they are not finding any blue shirts.

In the final third they have not shown the quality they have shown all season. Movement off the ball has been brilliant but the final ball not good enough.

Ben: How can Sane be offside, it came off Milner. Horrific officiating.

Dave: Surely the keeper punched it out and it rebounded off a Liverpool player, so how is Sane offside?

  20. CLOSE!published at 20:31 British Summer Time 10 April 2018

    Great moment from Liverpool!

They counter quickly through Roberto Firmino, who finds Mohamed Salah. He loses the ball but Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain regains possession, plays a one-two with Salah but lashes over from a tight angle.
