... so you know what song is being blasted out of the speakers as Yaya's big brother and former City team-mate Kolo makes his way to the centre-circle to hand out Yaya's leaving presents.

Yaya, Kolo and some of the City players have a quick bounce around together while the tune is still going on, then Yaya gets given that special shirt with '316' on the back, marking the number of appearances he made for the club.

I think this means he won't figure against Southampton on Sunday, otherwise he is going to need another shirt...

  2. 'We had enough chances to score'published at 22:09 British Summer Time 9 May 2018

    Tottenham 1-0 Newcastle

    Newcastle United

Rafa Benitez, speaking with Sky Sports: "We had 14 attempts against Tottenham at home and two penalties not given. We deserved something. Today we were doing almost everything well against a good team. It is a pity. Tottenham were a bit anxious and we had enough chances to score.

"If we have time on the ball for Jonjo Shelvey he can make things happen. He is a different kind of midfielder. Different types of players give you different options.

"To be safe with five games to play, it means a lot."

  3. 'The club will take the best decision'published at 22:08 British Summer Time 9 May 2018

    Chelsea 1-1 Huddersfield

    Chelsea

Chelsea manager Antonio Conte: "The only hope and intention was to keep our hopes alive and win the game. We tried with all of our strength to win but the result penalised our team a lot.

"For sure we had so many chances and you must be good to take them. It is not the first time that we are not clinical, there are many circumstances for this. We must accept the final result and the commitment was impressive of the players. We tried to win the game until the end. We were a bit unlucky in many situations.

"As you know very well you have to score one goal more than your opponent to get the points and a lot of times this season we have made chances but not taken them. It is not a situation only for the strikers but the whole tyeam. We must try to improve for the future.

"Every team deserves the pionts that they have in the table. We are fifth and we must accept this."

Will you be manager next season? "I think for this season this is my last game - it's always the same and I don't have anything to add."

Will you be here next season though? "This is not my task, there is a club to judge the situation and then to take the best decision."

A giant banner saying 'thank you Yaya' is passed around the Etihad crowd as Yaya emerges to say his goodbyes. He starts by wishing former Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson well.

Yaya is then asked what the most important moment of his eight years at City is? "That goal against United" (the winner jn the 2011 FA Cup semi-final).

  6. 'He has done an amazing job'published at 22:00 British Summer Time 9 May 2018

Huddersfield midfielder Aaron Mooy: "We knew it was going to be tough, Chelsea have so many talented players. We had to get close to them and make it difficult.

"David Wagner has kept a level head all season, he has done an amazing job. He gives us belief and confidence."

  9. '2018 is over so everybody better be ready for the Autumn'published at 21:58 British Summer Time 9 May 2018

    FT: Leicester 3-1 Arsenal

    Arsenal

Arsenal goalkeeper Petr Cech said: "After we conceded the first goal, we went down to 10 men and we had nothing to lose so we tried to play. You have two options after you lose a player, you can either defend your box and wait for an opportunity, or try and take the game to your opponent. We know we have the quality to create and score goals, which we did, but their second goal killed the game."

Asked about Arsenal's poor away form in 2018, Cech said: "Well that is 2018 over, so everybody better be ready for Autumn."

Michael: Well done Spurs! Forget that performance it was all about bottle and a result tonight. Get in Harry! What a man. Well done Huddersfield on staying up. A sterling effort. Thank God Chelsea didn't sneak into the champions league. Would have been totally unjust.

Huddersfield manager David Wagner: "My English is not good enough to give the players the credit they deserve. If you have the passion, desire and spirit you can compete with top top quality and you saw today that we can do it. We had luck, no doubt about it, but if any players deserve it it's this set of players.

"I never doubted their mental strength. We have so many experiences, the play-offs, the final, some very big dips in the season, five defeats in a row. We have always come back.

"In this very exciting week with proper Premier League fixtures we have confirmed everything, we have done it. I am so unbelievably proud.

"I was shocked that we had the lead! People said we had no chance, I will not criticise one of them because they were right. We were everything but a Premier League club last summer but we have given it a go. We have showed everybody that we are humble but we are ambitious. That is the town, and the club.

"We have done Jurgen Klopp a favour but that is the least that you can do for a good friend! We will celebrate tonight, and tomorrow."

City fans have not quite seen the last of Yaya Toure... there will be a special presentation made by the club to the Ivorian on the pitch shortly - from here it looks like a framed shirt, probably with '316' on it (his total appearances for the club).

The home supporters are not going anywhere yet.

"This was definitely the most important save in my career, no duobt about it."

Laurent Depoitre: "It was very hard, we ran a lot! We did a great defensive job. Great spirit to get the point that keeps us up. It was crazy to score the goal that keeps you in the Premier League."

Jack: Unbelievable. As a Huddersfield fan I was devastated after the Everton defeat as I thought we’d be relying on results elsewhere to keep us up. But 2 HUGE points from what was expected to be 3 straight defeats has kept us up!

Yes there will be different expectations on them next season, but for now, they have just got to enjoy staying in the Premier League.

  20. Hugs and high fives for Yayapublished at 21:48 British Summer Time 9 May 2018

    Man City 3-1 Brighton

    Chris Bevan
    BBC Sport at Etihad Stadium

Hugs and high fives from his team-mates, and a standing ovation from the crowd as Yaya Toure makes his way off the field for the final time in a City shirt, to be greeted by a warm embrace by Pep Guardiola. It looks like Yaya is going to get the win his manager promised him as a goodbye present before kick-off too.

The fans did not get the final Yaya goal they wanted but they made up for it by making plenty of noise. Just before his number came up, we had just had a rousing rendition of 'stand up if you love Yaya' followed by 'We love you Yaya, we do' and the Yaya/Kolo version of Two Unlimited's No Limits'.

I am pretty sure we will hear that last one again before the night is over.
