Chris Clee: Team - Southampton 2/10

    Manager (Pellegrino) - 2/10 Manager (Hughes) - 7/10

Best Player - Alex McCarthy stepped up when Forster hit abysmal form and has basically kept us up (bar a 9-goal swing)

Worst Player - Sofiane Boufal. All tricks, little result.

Metin: Chelsea 5/10. Real regression from last season, but that feels like Chelsea in a nutshell recently.

Manager: 5/10. Conte has not helped himself this season, but hasn't been helped either, so a vicious circle.

Best player: N'Golo Kante. Worst: Bakayoko

Former Stoke midfielder Liam Lawrence was on BBC World Service’s Sportsworld yesterday:

"The whole place is in mourning at the minute, the fans are absolutely devastated. I’m a Stoke fan as well myself, after playing for the club. It’s a hard-working city, working-class people and they just want their teams to be hard-working and give everything for the shirt.

"And this season I’ve got to touch on it, the recruitment side has been dreadful.

"The players that they’ve brought in over the last 12-18 months have not been good enough and they’ve been the wrong characters. When they wear the shirt they don’t give their all."

I was knocked out by Stoke and called them Stokealona for a time. Mark Hughes had a certain style for a certain period. He completely and utterly tried to change what the club was. The problem was Arnautovic wasn’t trustworthy every week, Bojan had a dreadful injury. Affelay has disappeared, Shaqiri is on and off.

They changed Stoke City, everyone knew what they were. Jon Walters was a big one for me to let go. He gave so much. It was like having an extra player in your team.

I've missed this guy for one...

Stoke have a very imbalanced, ageing squad. They let Imbula go out on loan, he was their record singing. Bojan is out on loan, which is ridiculous. Jese didn’t work. They have a core of good players, like Butland and Bauer - who has been their best player.

There’s still enough know-how in that dressing room to be nowhere near the bottom three.

At West Ham we went down on a record 42 points. In December I thought we’d be alright, we had Di Canio, Joe Cole, David James, Tomas Repka. But the games start going and you know you’re in trouble by the start of February.

One of today's 'key' games comes at Swansea, who could mathematically still escape with a big win coupled with a big thrashing for Southampton at the hands of the champions.

But Stoke have already succumbed to the drop. What's gone wrong at the Potters?

    Swansea v Stoke (15:00 BST)

    SwanseaImage source, PA

Swansea are almost certain to be playing Championship football in 2018-19.

Their 1-0 home defeat by relegation rivals Southampton on Tuesday means they occupy 18th place in the table heading into the final day, three points and nine goals worse off than the Saints.

The only glimmer of hope for the Swans is that they face relegated Stoke at home, while Southampton take on Manchester City, who have scored a record 105 goals this season.
