Fresh from following Gary Lineker on Twitter, Mohamed El-Shenawy produces the save of the match. Luis Suarez tees up the ball perfectly for Edinson Cavani to wallop first time. It's heading for the top corner until the keeper flings up an arm to make the stop.

Uruguay lose possession in midfield, and Egypt get the chance to break. They don't have the pace to take advantage. The move ends with Mohamed Elneny chipping over from the edge of the area.

This was clearly what was going on while Mohamed El-Shenawy was receiving treatment a few moments ago for that collision with Luis Suarez.

Carlos Sanchez, on the break for Uruguay, has the chance to play Diego Godin away down the right - and overhits it. Godin's face as the ball runs out of play is one of a man running for a train just as it pulls from the station.

For those of you in the UK, a train is a means of public transport that runs on tracks - they used to be quite common here.

Chance for Suarez! Oh, it's still not his day. Edinson Cavani with a lovely flick through, and the Barcelona man is into the area, but he can't get the ball out from under his feet, and Mohamed El-Shenawy is bravely down at his feet to gather. The goalkeeper gets a blow to the arm for his pains - and that just gives Egypt time to get their heads together as he receives treatment. No damage to the keeper, and on we go.

Chance for Egypt! Ahmed Fathy, who has looked useful on the rare occasions he has been able to get forward from right-back, hits a first-time shot on the run that Fernando Muslera gathers.

Ooh, lovely bit of skill from Amr Warda, who performs a drag back with the heel and turns away from Guillermo Varela to cross low, but Jose Gimenez clears...

Uruguay corner - Diego Godin strides up. Shades of Italy in 2014? No. The set-piece drops to Edinson Cavani, whose shot cannons off the arm of team-mate Martin Caceres. Egypt remain solid.

"It's set up for Salah to come on score the winner, isn't it?" suggests Martin Keown on BBC One. Doesn't look as if Salah is coming on, though - for the moment at least.

Certainly makes Group A interesting if it stays like this - Russia will be two points clear at the top, and I don't think any of us would have expected that.
