Salah has not played since injuring shoulder ligaments during Liverpool's Champions League final defeat by Real Madrid on 26 May. The indication during Egypt's press conference yesterday was that he was pretty much certain to play some part in today's game. So as Laura suggested below, could he be an impact sub?
"I can almost assure you 100% he will play, save unforeseen circumstances at the very last minute," said Egypt coach Hector Cuper yesterday.
"He could become the top goalscorer here and one of the greatest players.
"We're trying to make him feel confident. The doctors are giving him the option to play or not, but I know Salah very well and I'm sure he's not afraid, he's not fearful."

Laura Cooney: Makes complete sense not to start Salah in my view. Better to have him come on as a sub later rather than risk the shoulder from the off.

Today is Mohamed Salah's 26th birthday. Happy birthday! Sadly, I forgot to get a card, so here's a lovely home-made one instead.
I've no doubt what Salah's perfect present would have been. No, not the Avengers: Infinity War pyjamas. No, not even a Brian Blessed mask. He would have wanted a starting spot today. Not to be, but he is among the substitutes.
